I don't mind Chris Rock. I hear he doesn't have any great love for the president but he hasn't lost his sense of humor like the rest of the left.
"I don't mind Chris Rock. "
I will always love him for saying, as host of the MTV awards (or something like that, maybe the grammys, don't remember) after Marilyn Manson played: GO TO CHURCH! EVERYONE LEAVE HERE AND GO DIRECTLY TO CHURCH!
And that was the close of the show.
His stand-up in Washington D.C. was classic. "Vote for crack, not smack!" and "I'd have a drive-by from here to Brooklyn" had most of the audience in stunned disbelief.....
I know he's a liberal, but I still gotta like him, if only for the time he was talking to Jesse Jackson and wanted to know why it is that black people in bad neighborhoods can't pick up their own trash that they have lying around their houses. Said his mama would have whupped his ass if he'd thrown trash out in the yard and left it there. Jesse laughed gamely and blithely avoided any semblance of an answer, but was obviously flustered. Chris Rock was clearly a big fan of Jesse Jackson, but an even bigger fan of honesty. I would not be surprised one bit if some day, Chris Rock becomes a Republican. Not one bit.
