I must say, that if there is a hero in all this mess, it is the 1st Army Commander----cigar chomping and cussing----LTG Honore'
His press conference this week was a lesson learned of how officials (who have a spine) should deal with the media.

Sorry--my comments and the CNN post got screwed up. There is some FR block that goes nuts when you try to post from CNN or another media that sued us.

Honore's a great source for the sigfile--his quote-to-noise ratio's better than one-to-one.

Contrast this guy to the paper generals like Clark and Powell.

I love this guy! The first time I saw him, he was being pestered by a news harpy. She was half his size and yappin' around his heels, thrusting the microphone in his face time and again, whining, "It's been five days! Where have you been? It's been FIVE DAYS, where have you been?"
You could tell he wanted to belt her one, LOL! He kept saying to her, "We're here NOW! We're here NOW!"
It was perfect. :)

I heard he still has not accounted for his daughter, who lived in New Orleans.
The MSM is an insect.

He even 'spanked' a Fox News guy about the sniper situation the other day. "you guys in the media callin' them snipers, just a couple of boyz havin' an argument, you guys are calling them snipers"

I love people like this guy. But Powell was a pretty good general himself too. Clark--probably not.

This should be the "Let's Roll" call of America in this tragedy:

The sad thing is there are lots of heroes and we are not hearing about them because of the other stories.
You don't rescue 180,000 people without the first responders putting themselves at risk.

Honore said he wants his troops' profile in New Orleans to be that of humanitarian relief operations, leaving the law enforcement role to the local police. He can say that because he's from Louisiana, and the people know, and he knows they know, that that can change instantly and without regret if they give his troops any shit.
