Thank you for posting this thread. We should never forget 9/11/01, even though some would wish us to forget it ever happened. Along with the terrible attacks witnessed on live TV and knowing there were so many innocent people lost, we also buried a dear & close friend that day. It was also our youngest son's first birthday. I will never forget September 11, 2001. Ever.
Thank you for this thread. It still seems like a bad dream, even 4 years later. We must NEVER, EVER forget.
We must always remember what a huge price was paid by fellow Americans that day.
My heart was forever changed on that beautiful Tuesday morning. How a day so perfect could become a day so horrifying.
Thank God for President Bush, Rudy Guiliani, the FDNY, and the NY police force, for their incredible bravery, sacrifice,and commitment to their commrades, neighbors, and countrymen.
God Bless America.

Where Were You
Alan Jackson
Where were you when the world stopped turnin'
that September day?
Out in the yard with your wife and children;
Or working on some stage in L.A.?
Did you stand there in shock at the sight of that black smoke
Rising against that blue sky?
Did you shout out in anger in fear for your neighbor
Or did you just sit down and cry?
Did you weep for the children
that lost their dear loved ones?
Did you pray for the ones who don't know?
Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble
and sob for the ones left below?
Did you burst out in pride for the red white and blue
And the heroes who died just doin' what they do?
Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer?
And look at yourself for what really matters?
(Chorus)
I'm just a singer of simple songs;
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN, but I'm not sure I can tell you the difference
in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith, Hope and Love are some good things He gave us
And the greatest is Love.
Where were you when the world stopped turning
That September day?
Teaching a class full of innocent children;
Driving down some cold interstate?
Did you feel guilty 'cause you're a survivor
in a crowded room did you feel alone?
Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her?
Did you dust off that bible at home?
Did you open your eyes hope it never happened;
And close your eyes and not go to sleep?
Did you notice the sunset the first time in ages;
Or speak to some stranger on the street?
Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow;
Go out and buy you a gun?
Did you turn off that violent old movie you're watchin'
And turn on "I Love Lucy" reruns?
Did you go to a church and hold hands with some strangers?
Stand in line and give your own blood?
Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family
Thank God you had somebody to love?
(Chorus)
I'm just a singer of simple songs;
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN, but I'm not sure I can tell you the difference
in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young

God Bless all of those lost and living still fighting and crying.
God Bless our President and our Military may the cup runneth over forever and ever.
Amen.

NEVER FORGET
Thank you.
I found this page a few years ago. I hesitated to post it because some of the links go to photos that are extremely hard to look at. I bookmarked it to show my kids when they're old enough to understand what happened.
The bottom five links inside this link go to horribly graphic photos of some of the victims.

Much too sad to view again in all of its entirety.
I will NEVER forget.
However, I am disappointed in many of our fellow Americans. In four short years they seem to have mostly forgotten the sick feeling we all experienced that day.
And if not that, I sense our country has become polarized once again over political differences: Dems vs Pubs.
At that time, and for a very short time, all of us united singularly behind the President who led us to believe we could unite, and we DID!
Sadly, it may take another 'strike' before we all learn the lesson of a singular purpose of mind and resolve, once and for all.
"Katrina" surely didn't do it: that just led to the 'blame game'.
It all comes back (as if the memory ever goes away) when there's a day that's beautiful, sunny, and blue-skied.
God bless the U.S.A.
