Blanco Screws Up With Troops - Proof on Camera! (VIDEO)
The Political Teen ^ | Sept 12, 2006

Posted on 09/12/2005 10:38:39 AM PDT by COUNTrecount

There is a shot where Blanco is being set up several days ago for a TV interview, and her press secretary is helping her adjust her mic. They’re having a personal conversation, but the cameraman catches it!! In it, she kinda jokes to her press secretary something like “yeah, well I guess I really need to ask for troops,” and a couple more things she says. A bit later in hte segment she gets into a semi-argument with Miles O’Brien, and he’s pointedly asking her exactly WHEN she asked the President for troops. She gets frustrated and says she didn’t even know what

Saw that clip. Just goes to show what can happen when someone unfamiliar with the federal constitution is placed into office.

I knew that Louisiana would someday pay for not electing Bobby Jindal -- I just didn't know how dramatically they'd be punished.

I think this disaster makes it obvious that we need to have the Feds able to seize control much more freely.

Federal troops would have been helpful in FL during the 2000 recount (I'm sure that an incident could have been created).

If the aftermath of Katrina requited Federal Troops as police, Bush would have pulled that trigger with or without Blank-o's acquiescence. It was nowhere near that level.

The Governor stepped in it again. Better send out the cute Press Aide to smile sweetly and lie about it again!

It is hard to believe that any Governor of any state could not know that there is a specific requirement to request federal military intervention. The President asked her to sign off on exactly, and she refused.

Can anybody really be that clueless?

I've been wondering the same thing...why is the Lt. Gov. not front and center with her???? I couldn't tell you what he looks like because I have never seen him on t.v. or the net during this 'storm.' And I've been glued to Fox and FR for two weeks.

Too many Landrieus....?

One thing to remember is that she was reelected with 80% of the vote. that means she had been through at least one other hurricane during her 2 terms. Someone start that story rolling. Did she have any after action reports on those events?

Do you really want to give President Hillary that kind of power?

If this goes the way it looks like it is going, Hillary is the one who comes out the political loser in this disaster.

Blanco is a living breathing reminder of the stereotypical emotional woman. She is giving all us females a bad name. As I have said in other threads, there is no crying in crisis management. Many people look at Blanco and it strengthens their stereotype of the emotional, crying, indecisive woman.

Where do you get your information that she was re-elected with 80% of the vote. I thought that both of her elections were extremely close. I remember that Pres. Bush came to campaign for her opponent in the last election (it was a woman, too-can't remember her name) and, if I remember correctly, the results were razor-thin.

>As Lieutenant Governor I have three main areas of responsibility, but I am working as part of a larger team in state government. Collectively, our goal should be to make Louisiana not only a great place to visit, but a great place to live, to work and to play<

Guess he's working on this right now!
