What if Jews Destroyed Mosques (Remarkable for the source of the article)

Do Muslims in America lack the conviction of their religion to condemn sacrilege when it is committed by Muslims against others?

Imagine if Jewish settlers in the Gaza Strip destroyed two dozen mosques. There would be mass rallies in front of Israeli embassies around the world, and in America organizations like CAIR and MPAC would issue righteous condemnations calling on the American government to restrain Israel. However, as we've seen today, when Palestinians streaming into liberated Gaza set fire to synagogues there is deafening silence from most Muslims and certainly from the leadership of the American Muslim community.

Herein lies the sorry state of Islamic affairs. Muslims like to brag that when the Caliph Umar ibn Khatab entered the City of Jerusalem, he exhibited respect for Jews and Christians by refusing to pray in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, because he was afraid that Muslims would take it over. Indeed, to this day, a Muslim family is entrusted with the key to the church. In contrast, this Islamic spirit has ceased to exist 1,400 years later. The Palestinian authority is incapable (or unwilling) to provide security for the abandoned synagogues, the Palestinian people lack the adhab to refrain from destroying a temple dedicated to the worship of Allah, and Muslims in America are indifferent to this destruction because it is occurring to Jewish property.

Of course, as the New York Times reported today, this was a set up orchestrated by the Israeli government. Originally the synagogues were to be bulldozed with the rest of the illegal settlements constructed by Israeli settlers during their withdrawal from the 38-year occupation of Palestinian land. However, prominent rabbis argued that Jews can't destroy synagogues, and Ariel Sharon "was left with two bad choices: tearing them down, or leaving them standing with the knowledge that they might be desecrated."

Yeah, right. More likely Sharon rejoiced at the opportunity. He knew that the Palestinian Authority would not act to prevent the destruction. As a consequence, pictures and headlines would be flashed around the world showing Palestinian Muslims destroying synagogues. Once again the familiar narrative would be reinforced: Palestinian Muslims are barbarians, and Israeli Jews are justified in their brutal methods, otherwise civilization would fall.

The wholesale destruction of the Jewish synagogues is yet another indication that Palestinians of all stripes, whether Fatah secularists or Islamic Hamas types, do not have the political maturity to construct a civil society. However, it is also a sign that Muslims in America lack the conviction of their religion to condemn sacrilege when it is committed by Muslims against others.

I was right with him until that part.

May God protect him anyway. I believe he's made some people angry, and he wouldn't like them when they're angry.

When looking at how the world sees this - it is important to remember that they view Israel as an occupier that has not respected human rights. An analogous situation might be if Saddam had built religious structures in Kuwait while he occupied. If they were different than Kuwait's religion, Kuwait might have destroyed them.

It was scummy to destroy the synagogues and we should cut Palestinian aid over it but trying to see it through the world's eye's I can see other reasons for the lack of reaction than just anti-semitism. I have no doubt it was anti-semitism too.

Sadly, this is probably true. I HATE politics. (I am not condemning Sharon or the Jews - it was completely predictable that the Palestinians would do this. I just hate the fact that Sharon was most likely counting on it. Like I said, I HATE politics.)

Muhammadans are savages, they have been razing religious temples since Muhammad invented the cult. Look what Osama did in Afghanistan when they turn the once Buddhist country into an Islamic hell hole. He blasted a centuries old Buddhist shrine that was carved into a mountain, raised all the monasteries of monks, destroyed centuries of record keeping.

In India, for the past 12-1300 years they've been attacking Hindu's razing their temple and building mosks over them. In Jordan Hundreds of Churches destroyed and replaced by mosks, the same for all over the mid east.

In Bosnia, 12th century churches and monasteries are being completely destroyed.

Yet, the lunatics in this world whine if we shoot down a minarets of a mosk because it's used as a fortress for terrorists ( Mosks are actually designed as fortresses)

I say payback is long over due, every mosk in the world should be razed to the ground, and that blood cult banned

It's much worse than that. They have taken this hatred of the Jews deep into their hearts and it has poisoned them spiritually. Their lives are futile and they pass this bitter poison on to their sons and daughters.

"Palestinian people lack the adhab to refrain from destroying a temple dedicated to the worship of Allah,"

They don't worship rock gods named "Allah" in synagogues, they worship God (Yahweh) "Allah" is not an arabic word for god, that word is ilah. Allah is not the same god at all, although they and the media would like you to believe it is. "Allah' is a black rock, which was one of the many pagan Arabs (including Muhammad as well) used to worship in the ka'aba in Mecca. All Muhammad did is get rid of the other rock gods. They are still there however, they for the wallas of the Ka'aba in Mecca, along with the black Allah rock that Muslims touch when they go on their pilgramige.

Nothing can be more painful for an educated Muslim to contemplate than the grace and light that his co-religionists showed in a world much darker than this, contrasted with the apelike brutality that has taken over its leadership now. To speak out against the latter is literally to risk assassination.

It is a difficult thing to convince those whose acquaintance with that religion commenced on the 11th of September 2001 that it once was otherwise; that once Islam's direction was not in the hands of apocalyptic fanatics who flogged their followers into a suicidal frenzy, that once criminals and murderers such as Zarqawi were shunned by decent Muslims and brought to justice, that once there was decency where now there is hatred, violence, and an utter disregard for the civilization for which Islam once stood. It is shocking how retrograde the Taliban and the Ayatollahs turned out to be, but it cannot be denied, and if decent Muslims want to reclaim their religion they're going to have to face down the fascists. Frankly, I don't see that happening.

Hmmm, is this like the Church on the temple mount that the Moslems respected by converting it into the Dome of the Rock? Moslems hold the key to that one two. Or the other holy places that they signed treatys to respect, right before they burned them, and converted them into mosques?

I say let us treat everyone the way they teach, and tear down the Mosque's on the temple mount. It is after all the only way to show respect for their religious teachings...

What alternate reality did you escape from? It's obvious you know nothing of Islamic history. It has been a brutal blood cult spread by the sword since it's inception.

There are no "temples" dedicated to the worship of Allah, and in this one sentence exist the keys to this fellows misunderstanding of the whole situation.
