Gloves off for Biden Against Roberts
Human Events ^ | 9/13/05 | Amanda B. Carpenter

Posted on 09/13/2005 5:26:48 PM PDT by Jean S

Kay Daly, President of the Coalition for a Fair Judiciary, said, “Today, while questioning Judge John Roberts, a sitting federal appeals court judge, Senator Biden tossed civility aside and embraced sarcasm and derision.”

Specter had to warn Biden three separate times to allow Roberts to answer his questions because Biden was rudely cutting him off.

At one point, Biden, not so tactfully, referenced Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s answers during her confirmation hearings and said, "She thinks your old boss was dead wrong. She said so, and she said the majority was dead right."

Biden also accused Roberts of filibustering. Roberts joked that filibustering was a “bad word” to which Biden replied “That's if we do it to you. Go ahead. Go ahead and continue not to answer.”

That performance will make a heck of a campaign ad.....against Biden. I think most of America is pretty fed up with the rude, crude behavior of the democrats in congress, and the democrats in general.

It would be news if Biden exhibited any comity or, for that matter, integrity.

"Senator Biden tossed civility aside and embraced sarcasm and derision.”

Grandstanding. He knows he has no hope of stopping this appointment.

Practicing up for Janice.

Biden also accused Roberts of filibustering.

That really took the cake. "Hey, if we start throwing the word around willy-nilly, it won't mean anything if the Republicans accuse us of it!"

I heard this too. I'm glad Roberts has a good head on his shoulders, I personally woulda made a crack about Joe's famous lifting of other politician's lines.

Joe Biden wouldn't recognize the Constitution if he was forced to read it.

" Biden is a rude fool."

He is and always has been that....... And that is probably his best "quality". Were he not an America hating traitor, a seditious scumbag and a loudmouthed sack of feces.... He would not even be worthy of my notice.

"She thinks your old boss was dead wrong. She said so, and she said the majority was dead right."

What an extremely poor choice of words. Senator Biden was blindsided many time by Roberts today, and let his anger and arrogance get the best of him. He should be ashamed, but most likely he isn't. The Democrats of today have no shame..

It was their appearance before Bork and then Thomas that made leave the Party in disgust.

Lightning may repeat.
