Are you listening to WJBO? Callers are saying they are "very afraid of how ignorant our governor is". All callers I've heard so far have praised Bush for stepping up and asking when will local and state officials admit they screwed up.

"Gov. Blanc-hole, bany brother Lt. Gov. Landrieu, and their hirelings are radioactive and must be prosecuted/sued for the human and dollar losses because of their gross negligence."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Someone yesterday (can't remember now who) posted that no officials will be prosecuted -- because of something called
Sovereign Immunity
http://www.lectlaw.com/def2/s103.htm
I'm no lawyer so don't know if this in fact is absolutely true. Maybe someone else knows.
I agree with your comment. The experience gained by the MSM and the Dems in so successfully covering up Clinton and Hillary's big fat lying asses, has exposed their awesome ability to shroud any spark or truth in absolute darkness.
The Liberal MSM has been exposed as their Achillies heel, however and it is crumbling faster than a crumb cake dunked in milk.
The truth is coming! The truth is coming! and there will be no shadows in which the liberal roaches can hide, or any cracks through which they can flee.
The House and Senate do not need to have special investigations into Katrina, they just need to read this article and they'd have all the info they need.
So is your reply. If the assertions are false, then refute them.
Just a few - but it's not my job to be fact checker for every bogus article that comes down the pike.
The governors of those states had a already signed on to federal help and relief was pouring in. Governor Blanco was the lone holdout. She had still not made a decision.
050827 KBB - Request federal relief for cleanup: http://www.gov.state.la.us/Press_Release_detail.asp?id=976
050828 KBB - Request additional federal relief: http://gov.louisiana.gov/Disaster%20Relief%20Request.pdf
Blanco finally signed Executive Order KBB-2005-23, giving permission for the federal government to enter Louisiana with military assistance.
That order (http://www.state.la.us/osr\other\kbb05-29.htm) suspends a bonding requirement normally imposed on people deputized into Louisiana law enforcement duty. It has absolutely nothing to do with authorizing entry of federal military assistance.
In the first 12 hours after Governor Blanco relinquished control of the rescue and relief effort in New Orleans ...
AFAIK, she never relinquished ultimate control.
By Friday September 2, the federal relief effort was in full swing. Gen. Honore was now totally in charge and the effects of a firm leader were evident. A convoy of about 50 military vehicles arrived at the Convention Center where 7,000 storm survivors had waited for 4 days without food or water.
That convoy was a National Guard convoy, and not under Honore's command and control.
Walters said she was outside of the center when the convoy of about 50 military vehicles carrying National Guard troops and police arrived.
http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/09/02/katrina.impact/
There are other errors, many of which are of the "so what" variety. In general the piece is a sloppy mishmash of fact, error and inference. It is not helpful in unangling the reality of coordinated disaster relief.
Also, the extensive Moon Landrieu family have their hands on the bench and Prosecutor's office, and I suspect, under the tables.
Sue them in federal court if they plead "Lon Horiuchi", the protected class above the law. They violated their own emergency protocols, like Step 1 and knowingly thwarted the Republican feds' interventions.
IMHO, several office holders should be cuffed, stuffed, tried and hanged pursuant to law and common sense.
It's bird doo doo.
Oops ... there are two Executive Orders by Blanco that waive bonding requirements for LA deputized law enforcement. One dated August 31, another dated September 3rd.
http://www.state.la.us/osr\other\kbb05-23.htm <- KBB 2005-23
http://www.state.la.us/osr\other\kbb05-29.htm <- KBB 2005-29
Just the same, neither of these give federal authority to take over. The guts of them is approximately this ...
SECTION 1: Pursuant to the Louisiana Homeland Security and Emergency Assistance and Disaster Act, R.S. 29:724, et seq., and more specifically R.S. 29:724(D), the requirement of persons issued a special officer's commission by the superintendent of state police to be bonded shall be suspended.
SECTION 2: The only requirement of R.S. 40:1379.1 which shall be suspended is the requirement of the bond and proof thereof, all other requirements shall remain in full force and effect;
The later order rescinded the earlier one.
It's true. Governments are immune by default, but can, if they want, give their subjects limited recourse.
The immunity is nominally for official acts within the scope of their authority, and is not a blanket immunity for criminal activity.
Bush called, and Blanco stalled
That would be a great protest slogan, like "Zimmerman flew and Tyler knew"
""Meanwhile Blanco had her own advisors insisting that the President was actually making a request for federal takeover of the Louisiana National Guard, and asking to put Louisiana State Police under federal control. They were concerned that this would be the same as martial law and lead to abuse of power by the federal government.""
What is REALLY important about the above is that one of Blanco's advisors is probably the Lt Governor --- LANDRIEU ... aka Mary Landrieu's brother. Miss Many-Thang has been SCREAMING with her hair on fire that it is President Bush's fault. The reason, she is covering for her baby brother. PERIOD! If the Commission that Miss Clinton desires to have is held, then there is no denying Blanco's role and no denying Brother Landrieu's role. This will be fun to see if Miss Clinton continues to push hard for a commission.
I wonder if the bonding requirement was what was holding up the use of Feds in evacuation proceedures. There appears to be similar exec orders that allow waiving licensing of out-of-state medical personel and vets.
Thanks for clarifying that.
So if criminal activity < cough, cough > is found, then there is recourse.
Sorry ... forgot to mention that the Landrieus HATE for President Bush and the Republicans far EXCEEDS their concern and care for the people of New Orleans and Louisiana and so Lt. Gov Landrieu insisted to Blanco that this was an attempt by the Bush Administration to take over Louisiana. Hate is a real strange dog that motivates people to act without care for others.
