Mrs. Clinton again voted against drilling in ANWR and against the energy bill--even though it did not open ANWR or any new offshore areas to drilling. She also declared her opposition to a proposed liquefied natural gas terminal in Long Island Sound that would help New Yorkers import the fuel they need to heat their homes that Mrs. Clinton opposes letting them drill in Finger Lakes National Forest. You nailed her CD. Richardson is a friggin' joke.

Sure, some people's livelihoods desperately need wind power to fail. Limbaugh for one?

Cover Otero Mesa with 400 foot wind generatorsThat's not necessarily the best approach.
One alternative would be to harness the winds in the Great Plains, where the wind is always blowing somewhere. Of course, it'd be nice to have a decent grid to hold and distribute the electricity. If I recall correctly, Congress tossed something like $10M at grid improvement this year (probably in the NE states, and only until people forget about that big blackout). Biblewonk might remember the actual number.
On a related note, rumor has it Congress and GWB will be spending upwards of $250B of our tax dollars -- close to $1,000 from every man, woman and child in the U.S. (not just the taxpayers!) -- on Katrina before it's all said and done. At the very least, appropriations for grid improvements could be judged somewhat constitutional.
Priorities, I guess. If only we had the race baiters claiming our energy situation is a civil rights matter, Congress and the White House might actually get off their collective arse...

Yer momma. Since you claimed, (FOOLISHLY), that there was no energy crisis, did you bother looking at the prices? Rather high aren't they?
And where might that relief be coming from?
Yer momma's methane?

That's not necessarily the best approach. Obviously you've never been to the Otero Mesa Grasslands. Wind blows all the friggin' time. Airports out there use logging chain for wind socks.

Imagine how many windmills and how much grid that 250B could buy.

Raptors are the cuisinart byproduct of your wind Turbines. CA recently shut down an entire wind farm during the months of raptor migration. To avoid the mess.

Raptors are the cuisinart byproduct of your wind Turbines. Not mine. My wind turbines are in the Great Plains. You're the one who says wind turbines belong in raptor areas.

I didn't say they belong ANYWHERE, except in jest to Sen. Bingaman, who is a blithering idiot. There are no raptors or migratory birds in the Great Plains?

There are no raptors or migratory birds in the Great Plains?Surely you realize there is plenty of good data regarding wind and (if you so choose) birds to aid in determining the best and most desirable places to site wind turbines.
Although the toy pinwheels in CA have killed raptors and other birds by the hundreds, studies at the various Iowa wind farms show that the bird kill is virtually nil.
At any rate, plate glass windows and traffic likely kill more birds than wind turbines ever could.

With the various solutions of gas/diesel, etc., we could call that brand the "Final Solution".
