Don Imus - Anti-Abortion Zealot? (or, did anyone hear the show this morning?)

This morning, Don Imus interviewed Jay Severin. Just wondering how many of you heard it and what you thought.

Imus and Severin were discussing the Supreme Court, and the possibility of Bush nominating a true conservative to replace O'Connor, which Severin doesn't think is likely. The topic turned to abortion, and Imus said something about how all the Democrats care about is whether a SC candidate will allow people to kill babies, which he thinks is very tragic. Severin said that he's personally opposed to abortion and that he thinks it's terrible that a 13-year old can be taken across state lines to get an abortion without parental consent, and that he doesn't think that the government should pay for ANY abortions, but that he thinks that a woman in a cabin in Montana (his words) who gets pregnant and can't afford another child should be able to do what she wants. He also said he doesn't think it's fair that "a white man in a suit should tell her what choices to make".

Imus said "what about if the child is 6 months old and she decides that it just doesn't fit her lifestyle or she can't afford it. What's the difference?"

Severin said, "Well, then she'd be a murderer."

Anyone heard Imus talk about abortion before? It didn't sound like he was playing devil's advocate. He seemed to really be disgusted by the whole concept of abortion.

You mean Imus actually talked about something other than his continual schilling for the Imus Ranch?

Don who?
If you're talking about that liberal gasbag who's on at 6 a.m. ET;
you just might want to enlighten your day and check out Bill Bennett.
He has a very interesting program with great guests.
And his program won't give you a migraine! LOL
You can listen online too.

In other words, murder is optional. That's the position I least understand.

Imus is a lacky of MSM who tries to come across as a good ol boy he was a real traitor in the last election- and he constantly pumps up the liberal elite who are all as he says "his good friends" the guy is just another hypocrite
playing average joe.

(or, did anyone hear the show this morning?)

The 80-year old guy that dresses like Howdy Doody? I didn't realize he was still on. He must be like, what, maybe 85 by now?

Anybody with half a brain is pro-abortion.

Now if you have a whole brain you would be against it.

I've never known him not to be pro-life. I've listened to him since the 70's. Where I live now, he's not on radio, so I catch him occasionally on MSNBC.
Another stand he takes that you may find surprising, "You can't trust anyone who will cheat on their spouse."

That's like saying, "Yeah, spinach is bad, but I'd rather eat spinach than brussel sprouts any day of the week!"

I'll just say that after listening to jay for the past few years, I've finally gotten fed up with him. He interviewed Cindy Sheehan last month and has lost faith in the Iraq War, and during the Terri Schiavo case landed on the side of the courts and Michael. That was enough for me.

***Severin and his typical libertarian "freedom to abort" crap***

Yup, he's still using that old liberal dodge, " I'm against abortion, but..." Kinda like, I support the troops, but I don't support the war.
