Illegal immigration is the one issue both Democrats and Republicans are afraid to address. I am an American of Mexican descent, therefore how I am not anti-Mexican.
Just because I can sympathize with the majority of people coming from Mexico and other parts in central and South American does not mean I think this country has the obligation or the ability to assimilate the entire hemisphere. Just because a country chooses to protect its borders does not make it a heartless or racist country. It seems to me a basic and natural thing for a country to do this, protect its borders.
I really believe that if someone does not get a handle on this enormous problem with our porous bor-ders we are going to become a Third World country.
I can see why the Republicans do not want to really fix the problem. Cheap labor from down south al-lows the Wal-Marts of this country to increase their bottom line and we all know the Republican Party is primarily a party for big business. So we have George Bush paying lip service to this problem but never really addressing it in a meaningful way.
I am not anti-immigrant, I just think everyone should obey our immigration laws. They were put there for a reason.
The thing that puzzles me is why the Democratic Party does not run with this issue.
Cheap labor is hurting our unions; unions for the most part support the Democratic Party. To me ad-dressing the immigration problem is a way of helping the blue-collar worker in this country. The Demo-cratic Party should jump on this issue and do it soon. Not only is it a populist idea, it is the right thing to do.
Aside from illegal immigration being a detriment to the economic health of the average American worker and taxpayer, the most dangerous and probably the most important issue is that terrorists can come into this country with little or no intervention. I say bring our boys home from Iraq. Station these reserve and National Guard troops at our borders and secure them before we worry about the borders between Iraq and Syria.
Put our reserve and National Guard to patrol our nuclear plants, our water ports, our airports, our chemical plants. There is so much critical industry that we have in this country that is going virtually unprotected.
We need to get serious about playing a little defense. We need to better protect the homeland. I dont think this is being an isolationist, this is just common sense.

I agreed with him until he got to the ridiculous liberal vomit spewing. Ugh. How do we de-brainwash these people?

I can't help but think about how we've killed thousands of these fanatics over in camel country, knowing damn well we've made a whole bunch of those savages even more fanatical. Yep, I'd say we'd better protect and secure our borders and reform our immigration policies, like right now. We need to make it real hard to get in here.
It's a worldwide race to the bottom.

Myths and lies of illegal immigration
* * * *
Opposition to illegal immigrants is not racism. We simply do not want these criminals and riffraff in our country. It is an invasion that will eventually turn this country into a Third World country, among other threats. I want the blond Russian Mafia expelled as well as those from other countries.
...(illegal)...Immigration will make U.S. Third World country...
This statement is true, and everyone knows it.
Now, the real question is: why are those in charge pushing it so hard.
The answer is the most obvious.
You are a great American!
Another Reason We Should Control Illegal Immigration:
Malaria, Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever, Yellow Fever, Schistosomiasis, Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever, Leprosy, Hepatatis A, B, and C, Ebola, Tuberculosis, Changas Disease, Virusones, Norovirus, the Asiatic Avian Flu, and a host of other pathogenic bacteria, parasitic protozoa and worms carried by illegal immigrants.
The diseases in the third world, carried by many illegal aliens, will personally and financially impact the US population. Something to think about the next time you are eating at a restaurant with the grunt work being done by illegal aliens that didnt have a medical checkup before handling your food.

It was only a few months ago when more than 40 illegals working at a Tyson foods plant were found to be carriers of TB.

"...(illegal)...Immigration will make U.S. Third World country..."
Only if the immigration is from third world countries as is currently the case.

I'd personally love to have our troops come home from Iraq. However, I'm not sure that we can leave Iraq, right now, to the caprices of the sub-humans who think nothing of blowing up groups of day laborers (Iraqi, not Mexican) with car bombs. If thos people fill the vacuum left by our troops and overthrow the current government, the people of Iraq will surely be much worse off than before. Hopefully, we can bring them home over the next couple/three years or so, however...
"Immigration will make U.S. Third World country"
Worse. It will morph us into another Haiti, if we're lucky.
As the alien wave sweeps away at the values of our forefathers we can all see the destructive changes now taking place in our schools, on our streets, in our government and the media. The inner cities of America are exploding with crime. New schools built by ever-higher taxes are bright and new on the outside, but full of dull faculty and even duller students on the inside. Welfare financed birthrates and non-white immigration continues to flood and overwhelm our social infrastructure, from educational costs to housing, from maintenance to medical care. The resulting economic drain continues to cause a steady decline in living standards for the American middle class.
All the while the mass media and the open border lobby continue to levy concentrated attacks on the mores of Western Civilization, glorify everything from wholesale promiscuity, to homosexual marriages, to alcohool and drug abuse. It is obvious that their propaganda will only increase with time, not abate.
The amazing thing is that while these changes are taking place, the American people remain incredibly indifferent to the most critical issue facing our country: its rapid transformation from an overwhelming European-culture-based nation to a Third World one.
The writing is on the wall for all to see.
