Well the way it was written it seemed vague in that
("A Pentagon employee was ordered to destroy documents that identified Mohamed Atta as a terrorist two years before the 2001 attacks, a congressman said Thursday.")
these words do not make it clear if Atta was identified two years before the 2001 attack or if the destruction of the documents took place two years before the attacks.
That being the case I was wondering if I had missed earlier reporting, giving a more specific time about when the destruction took place and/or ordered to be destroyed.
