Elsewhere in the Atlantic Basin:
A tropical wave along 27/28 west and south of 17 north is moving west at 10 knots.
Another tropical wave along 54 west and south of 18 north is showing signs of organization as a tropical disturbance is developing along the tropical wave. Visible imagery indicates circulation around a surface low. Shear is light over most of this feature, so it should continue to become better organized, perhaps becoming a depression within 12-24 hours. Most computer models are suggesting this wave should slowly organize into a tropical system within the next 2-3 days, passing near the northeast Caribbean early next so this wave will be closely monitored for development.
Another tropical wave along 63 west and south of 21 north is tracking west at 10-15 knots. It is encountering northwest shear and we feel that it will have a better chance of development over the weekend as it moves away from the shear. Unsettled weather with showers and thunderstorms will spread west across Hispaniola, the Bahamas, and eastern Cuba this weekend, then across south Florida early next week. If this feature develops into a depression or tropical storm then heavy rain and high winds will accompany it. There is some computer model information suggesting this strong tropical wave might become an organized tropical system over the southeast or southern Gulf Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Steering currents are forecasted to take this system on a westerly course. So, this system will be followed very closely.
Here we go again. I was just checking awhile ago and didn't see anything.
We live in NC and, so we're sensitive to hurricanes; even though we're in the Western part of the state.
ping....
I'm taking tonight off from the storms. ;o)
Thanks. That's just what I need. I've had 3 hurricanes and two tropical storms affect me in less that one years time. I'm not cleaned up from Katrina yet so, these will have to wait.
Please, Lord, no more this year!
Thank You!
I will add Amen to that.
BLB is pretty much destroyed. My brother on Pioneer Rd said he lost a few trees and thats all. Hope you fared ok.
If they act like Ophelia, they might want to name them Moe, Larry and Curley.
These must be Carl Rove's plans to go after hispanics, American Indians, and Arab Americans in their birthing.
Judging by how far out to sea they still are, Bush could probably counter them by quickly signing the Kyoto protocol before they hit land. That should fix things.
Dang! Somewhere, somehow, you must have stepped on some mighty big toes.
Large trees on my fence and a lot of limbs...no structural damage. Three of my neighbors lost part of their roofs. Still thankful though.
Whiner.
;-)
Another chance for the libs to blame Bush.
global warming ping
I was wondering when the next batch would show up. Honestly, you can send them straight up here to NYS. They're never really strong by the time they get up here and boy do we need the rain. It has hardly rained here since mid-May and has been really hot. I'd be willing to take it off your hands for you.
