I remembered that after I completed my post. Did you read the article online that a high number of the dead are from violence instead of drowning? Said a lot of the dead had guns in their hands and bullet holes in their heads or slit throats.

These are NOT nice guys. I wonder how many were part of M13? Isn't this their MO?

It does sound like many people were murdered by gang-bangers, but all of the video I saw showed mainly black thugs running wild in the city, not latino thugs that would make up a gang like M13. That's not to say they weren't there, just that I saw no evidence of it, and have read nor heard anything to support that idea.
