The thing about the Cole bombing that made no sense to me...
If a warship is anchored in an Arab port where terrorism is a possibility (if not a high probability), why would we not have a small speedboat with men assigned to encounter any oncoming craft and inspect/verify its authorization prior to letting it come within 1/4 mile of the Cole?
It just doesn't happen like that. I was in the Navy. We did not allow *anyone* to come up to the ship.
