FORT LAUDERDALE -- Kelly Ray Jones, the boyfriend of a man accused of killing a Broward Sheriff's deputy, was sentenced to more than 24 years in prison Friday for the child pornography case that set off the tragedy.
Jones begged the judge for mercy and a chance to see his partner, Kenneth Wilk, who is locked up and may face the death penalty if he is convicted of the August 2004 murder of Deputy Todd Fatta.

Left out of current press reports is the fact that one of these guys was a former Log Cabin President.
When the story first broke the Log Cabin connection was reported but has since gone uncommented on.
These death penalty crybabies remind me of the story that Lincoln used to tell about the kid who murdered his parents and burned down the house, then pleaded for mercy because he was an orphan and homeless.
You said it. 24 years is not enough time in prison to pay for what this man did. Why should he get to see his partner? The family of the deputy will never get to see their loved one again.
I live in St. Lucie County. The sheriff's department and the City of Port St. Lucie police department have been very succesful in discovering pedophiles who stalk children on the internet. My sorrow is for the victims. Not for those who prey on them.
