Able Danger, More Weldon, 09/17/05
The Strata-Sphere and Global Research.ca ^ | 9/17/2005 | vadkins

Posted on 09/17/2005 9:49:58 PM PDT by vadkins

From a transcript of a news conference given today by Curt Weldon, he said: The first week the story broke in the New York Times, I was in Pennsylvania that Friday doing district work and I got a call at my office. My chief of staff took the call, and it was from a person I’d never met in my entire life. I’d never mentioned her name. She was on vacation and asked my chief of staff for me to call her back.

Her name was Jamie Gorelick.

Wow. Read the whole thing.

There was a David Hawkins, Forensic Economist, on Jerry Doyle's radio show last night. I missed it, but here's a comment to a post from http://www.Captainsquartersblog.com

I listened to the 1st two hours. WOW Lots of stuff to ingest!

This is the link Hawkins mentioned. He wants to form some kind of a network to collect info and get it out. Cap't you should contact him! He has LOTS of info! They talked about AD alot. Hawkins said he help pioneer software that helps Data-mining. He talked about Raytheon, AD, Shaffer, 911 Commission, the Clintons, Sandy Burgler, USS Cole and the two week warning. WOW!!!!!!!!!!

.....“Please tell Congressman Weldon I’ve done nothing wrong.”......

That is a very lame statement. What in the world would provoke her to make the effort to call the congressman with such a statement? Does she not know the only way she can be vindicated is open testimony?

....He must have taken something pretty damning if he had to actually steal it....

Exactly. The question on my mind is what did he give up about what he stole in order to get the plea bargin?

I think he ratted out and his life is in the balance.

My take is a little different than yours. I believe that the "Gerolick Wall" was put in place so the DOJ could not garner any information that the DOD had gleaned as to Clintoons campaign financing scandals. The fact that the DOD, which had made the link between Atta (and other perps?) and AQ, was forbidden to give this info to the DOJ was an unintended consequence. IOW, the means used to cover up Chinagate, Riady, etc. also (inadvertently) covered up the Atta-AQ link and that he was in this country.

This is exactly what happened and can't be said often enough.

How very sad that so many lives were lost and so many families were destroyed because those Clintoons (pos) needed cover.

Unfortunately this is not the first nor last time that the actions of miscreant career politicians or entreched bureaucrats, in order to save their jobs and money, will cause innocent Americans to pay the price of their crimes.

Disagree with you all on several points.

First, I don't believe that all copies of the 2.5 terabytes were destroyed. To the Clintons, among others, that information (like all information) would be a gold mine. E.g, the cheap shot on Rice and Perry (why do I think Jerry and Refrigerator here?)

Beyond that, having the information in the right hands (FBI Weldon, etc.) would allow someone to connect the dots. On this we seem to agree.

I disagree that the loss of info on AQ was inadvertent. I think there is more connect the dots info (e.g. Barbara Olsen).

"I am hoping all this heat of Weldon's provides some illumination on this creepy affair, with heavy on the hope."

I track your feelings 100%. Unfortunately, I have the strong feeling that Bush also must have something to hide here. Nothing else, to me, would explain the continuing cover-up effort of the strength we have here. It appears to me that the Pentagon is expanding major resources in a current cover-up effort.

But of course, Clinton has by far the most to hide, so the the MSM is AWOL.

This is a pretty tough combination to fight against. Whatever happens, we conservatives owe Weldin big time for trying. it would be nice if we could get some element of the British press in on this.

I never said anything about the info being destroyed. I said that it was not shared between DOD and DOJ. In order for any info to be useful to the clintoons, the source of that info would have to be known. The cOmmission says that AD didn't exist, therefore, no info. When we talk about Slick, we must remember what a small, shallow and petty person he truely is. Covering his own a$$ without any thought as to how it could effect anyone else is so much in his character that I can't ignore it.

It would be nice if we could get the MSM in this country to cover it LIVE!!!! They won't, it will be just bits and pieces on the nightly shows maybe...it has made me very angry from the beginning of this Able Danger thing, no one wants to report on it. Curt Weldon has always done excellent work over the years and been ignored by the MSM, it is exacerbating to say the least. I have hoped Kristina would not cover this up but alas it will be the excuse or it is too confusing for the american people ect. I wished they would of held the hearings on Mon. at about 5:00 a.m. Mt. time so those of us that wanted to watch it could instead of waiting for 3:00 a.m. from C-span. Oh well...

Jamie Gorelick was not only deputy attorney general of the United States under Clinton, a position she assumed in March 1994 and held until 1997; but from May 1993 until she joined the Justice Department, Gorelick also served as general counsel of the Department of Defense. These dates are not relevant except possibly to point out that Gorelick was familiar with and worked in the DoD.

Add to the mix, Clinton signing an EO in April on 2000 making Reno the assistant Sec of Defense in charge on domestic affairs. It went into affect in October of 2000.

Things are going to continue leaking out. I just read this from a link to the New York Post On Line: http://www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/53533.htm

By NILES LATHEM September 17, 2005 -- WASHINGTON — Members of a secret Pentagon intelligence unit known as Able Danger warned top military generals that it had uncovered information of increased al Qaeda "activity" in Aden harbor less than three weeks before the attack on the USS Cole, The Post has learned.

In the latest explosive revelation in the Able Danger saga, two former members of the data-mining team are expected to testify to the Senate Judiciary Committee next week that they uncovered alarming terrorist activity and associations in Aden weeks before the Oct. 12, 2000, suicide bombing of the U.S...

............... I think there is so much that Able Danger knew about in real time that the project had to be closed down to protect to many folks in the Clintoon admininstration from being placed in jail. This crap given that they could not share info about Atta because he was considered an American is ballshi!. It is being shown that was just one little part of a mass of very incriminating evidence showing the lack of leadership during the Clintoon years, not to mention the tie in with the Chicom deals. Perhaps the Atta part will be allowed to continue but a lot of stuff will be keeped under the rugs. We can't have a Federal trial to convict a president of the United States on treason charges. It is not PC in todays world. Though it is the only fitting and proper thing that should be done. Weldon is hoping that more will get exposed leading to finger pointing to the Slick One but I am afraid Specter will not allow that to happen. The Beltway gang do not operate in that mode.

Hmmmm. "It would be nice if we could get the MSM in this country to cover it LIVE!!!!"

Yeah it would. However, I have long accepted that the MSM is our adversary. What I keep thinking about is if there was some way we freepers could get the word out a little better. I would like to see an ongoing DVD production group associated with FR. for example, I was encouraging SuzyQ to make a DVD incorporating video about the recent anti-Cindy demonstration that FR played such a big part in. she asked me if I knew anything about video capture, and I had to admit that I don't. I have a feeling she may have gotten discouraged there. Really, the least we could do as a web site is have a go to person for video capture questions.

I feel FR and has tremendous strength vis-à-vis demonstrations, but vis a vis DVDs I think we should be stronger. It's very cool to have a big demonstration but we know the MS will ignore it. So we need to get the images and sounds out to the people ourselves. cCompared to the volunteer hours and money expended on sending setting up the anti-Cindy demonstration, the amount we would've needed to expand to create DVD would have been tiny. Yet, we would've multiplied the yield on the demonstration.

The first thing that I thought when I saw "Clinton Turns on Bush" was that Clinton was warning Bush this would be just the beginning if Able Danger was pursued.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bush and Clinton had made a deal that Bush would bury the hatchet on Clinton's pre-9/11 terrorist inadequacies and Clinton would support the current war on terror without much Carteresque badmouthing in exchange.

If Able Danger is pursued, expect that deal to be null and void.
The test of my theory will be to see how caustic Clinton becomes toward Bush as the hearings unfold.

My take is Bush may have known about it, but Clinton said ...SO what! I've destroyed all the evidence....prove it!

Having other things on the plate "W" figure "what goes around comes around"! And gee whiz, it appears it'll come around just about the time Hill/Billy are running for office again. Coincidence? I think not! (and it's not coming from the Bush administration, so it can't be his fault after all he keeping his enemy close... wink wink)

I don't think that Clinton has done that great of a job NOT critisizing Bush's war in Iraq....but, I know what you mean.

It seems that he picked this Sunday to expound on his negativity toward President Bush is quite a few areas....nice of him, huh?

I guess his ego was stroked so much this last weekend by the rich and famous, that he feels invincible again....maybe NOW is the time for Weldon and gang to spring the trap...SNAP!!!!!

I am just praying that this is a "sting" by President Bush..like someone hinted at regarding the way he has been handling the dems and press re: Hurricane Katrina...and the corruption hiding under all that rubble in NO. and other parts of LA.

She is a pal of Hillary's, so I can't imagine she'd spill the beans. She must know she's up sh$t's creek without a paddle if she is calling Weldon pleading innocence!

She probably pulled that same trick with the 9/11 Commission when Ashcroft exposed 'the wall" when he was testifying.

Unfortunately, the committee let her get away with it. I don't think Weldon will be so forgiving.
