You are very lucky. My family is nowhere even close to being close, friend wise and geographically. There are 5 of us. ! in Mass, 1 in CT, one in New York, 1 in texas and another in California. The one in Cali isn't far enough away, as far as I'm concerned.

I think most families are like yours. I know I'm lucky. There are five children, as well as my parents. We all live within 15 minutes of each other, with the exception of my oldest sister who bought my parents vacation home four hours away.

My husband and I actually bought a house two yards away from my childhood home, and my parents still live in it. It's cool, cause my dad will just wander over in the evenings, and sit for hours talking and drinking coffee.

I'd say that there is some family member at my house at least three nights a week, if not more.

I'm in the same boat. My sister and I haven't lived anywhere near each other in over fifteen years.

I wish I had a close relationship with her, but when we're together, we have a huge fight two days after we see each other. It's like clockwork.

I love her, but I guess there are too many "issues," relating to our parents, that we'll never be able to get past.
