An iPod is just a trendy music player using digital music files rather than traditional media (CD, cassettes, LP's).

It's got a fancy user interface which you can navigate by spinning your fingers around the stationary "wheel."

It's all the rage among the Prius-driving, Starbucks-drinking, Barnes-and-Noble-lounging, Poncho-wearing urban flakes. Not to disgrace the submitter, or anyone else here who has one, as the converse is not necessarilly true. It just seems like Apple and Google are the latest fads among the 'metrosexual' crowd. Now, I have to wash my hands for typing that word.

I think you may be on to something...If anybody wants to get rich, the should make a handgun or jacknife that is also an MP3 player for the less trendy crowd. Maybe you could build one in to a beer can holder, or a extra-large belt buckle?

First of all, the photo you posted is a first generation iPod that hasn't been made for years. Secondly, your description of the typical iPod user is not typical at all. There are as many conservative iPod users as there are liberal metrosexuals. Even President Bush uses an iPod.

Time to come into the 21st Century!

You're wrong ... but something tells me you're not too open minded.

I work in the stockmarket and almost everyone is a Republican and drives nice cars. Gays are relatively few in my business.

But I can tell you that over the last few years PC owners that I know have gone for the iPod BIGTIME. It is simply awesome..

Why you would equate a consumer device with homosexuality is curious but then I don't want to plumb the depths of your psyche. Do yourself a favor, next time you pass an Apple store, stop in and look at the iPod ... the Nano is my favorite. You might just realize you like it.

LOL! Perfectly worded. I think you will see IPods for $5-$15 at garage sales within the year as the next new thing comes out.

You just described my husband, except he doesn't wear a Poncho. However, he is also a conservative.

I don't drive a Prius!
I hate Starbucks!
Barnes and Nobles is overpriced, so I don't buy there!
I don't wear a poncho!
I am not a flake!
I certainly am not a metrosexual!

I own an Ipod.
I love my iPod.

Anyone who thinks it is an Apple/Google 'fad', just think back when CD's came out - vinyl will become obselete? No way! Vinyl forever...yeah right.
