LYNWOOD, Calif. - Sheriff's deputies shot and wounded a man who allegedly pointed a handgun at them and later found a woman who was allegedly shot by the man, officials said Sunday.
Deputies patrolling in Lynwood heard gunshots Saturday about 2 p.m. and drove around to find the source, said Deputy Oscar Butao of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The spotted a man running down a street with a handgun and tried to detain him, Butao said. The man allegedly pointed a handgun at the deputies and they opened fire and struck him in the lower torso, Butao said.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital and was listed in stable condition, he said.
Deputies later found a woman who allegedly was shot by the man and she was taken to local hospital where she is in stable condition, Butao said.
A handgun was recovered at the scene.
The identities of the alleged gunman and the female victim were not released.
No deputies were injured.
The shooting is being investigated by sheriff's homicide investigators.
By the time I get mid-way through the story, I can't remember who they're talking about anymore.
It is not a good idea to point a gun at an LEO.
LOL!
Hell, in LA it's not a good idea to make eye contact.
LOL!
Was he shot on a ledge?
