Fret not!
Hopefully, you'll start learning more and more. This was just a launch of a new idea for a thread.

We hope it's informative and fun as well.

*HUGS*

What a great idea.

Here's what I need: A suggestion for software that can best produce a ring chart (AKA donut chart). These charts are typically not data related, but for graphic display of a concept/model. I need to create the chart with multiple rings, segmented rings, and the ability to insert labels/text in each segment that follows the curvature of the ring.

Any thoughts from the experts here?

Here is a question that I'm putting out to all of you from one of our fellow FReepers.
Please post any answers on the thread and don't forget to ping the person asking the question!
Thank you!

For those that were wondering the same thing SevenOfNine just asked, here's the answer:

Spacewar or Space War was the first video game intended for computer use.

**Spacewar! was conceived in 1961 by Martin Graetz, Steve Russell, and Wayne Wiitanen. It was first realized on the PDP-1 in 1962 by Steve Russell, Peter Samson, Dan Edwards and Martin Graetz, together with Alan Kotok, Steve Piner and Robert A. Saunders.

The first commercially available video game, Pong (Atari 1973), was introduced 11 years after Spacewar! Pong is a simple concept that has turned out to be surprisingly durable even though the graphics are simply white rectangles on a black background. In the beginning, Pong was placed at entertainment venues, markets, and fun fairs, next to mechanical pastimes and as a supplement to these. This is the same kind of place where the game Space Invaders (Taito 1977) was also introduced. Space Invaders defines most of the basic parameters of what I call the classical action game: A player controls an object/an actor against some enemies; a score is kept; the game is real-time and requires fast reflexes; the player has a fixed amount of lives (typically three); the game is based on successive levels of increasing difficulty; the game (or just the title) places the player’s action as part of a minimal narrative.

Thank you for this--just got a new'puter and DSL--trying to set the whole mess up. So far I have seriously grumbled at Mr.Tar-heel (who is a Freeper by another name and doing most of the work on this project)at least twice, cried once, stomped out of the room once and generally behaved like a twit. I have yet to kick the cat.

If you have a ping list please put me on it.

All the stuff that I just used came from here. Giving proper credit where due.

Also, please don't forget that El Gran Salseron and GummyIII did the work for this thread and everything else. As usual, MoJo did the minimal amount required. It's called Slacker Mode!

Q. How can I get rid of pop up Ads running Windows 2000?

OK, the Messenger thingy doesn't work!

Otherwise, there has to be a program installed. The best I have found is a freeware program named Pop-Up Stopper at http://www.panicware.com but you have to be sure to get the freeware version of that program and not the other stuff they sell. It is very small and doesn't take much system memory if that is the concern.

I have now gone to www.panicware.com

In the lower left hand corner I see this...

Pop-Up Stopper Free Edition: Basic ad-blocking for FREE | download now

If I download now, what can go wrong? If something can go wrong, it will! LOL!
