Of course there is a climate of fear running through newsrooms. Forged documents and fake news stories can no longer stand without scrutiny. In the 70's, VVAW were allowed to use fake veteran's to make up stories of US atrocities, and there was no easy way for people to verify the identities of the scum, and even if they could be outed, no news outlet or major newspaper would have ever brought the facts to the general public.

Now thanks to the internet, a political forum named Free Republic, with help from blogs like LGF and the FNC, brought down one of the major icons of the left. I truly believe if we had the same means of information during the 60's and 70's the Vietnam war would have had a different ending.

I truly hope Dan Rather has nightmares where he is running from his anchor chair, trying to shred the NG memoes, while a group of Freepers led by Buckhead, TankerKC and Jim Robinson chase him.

Somewhere in the article, Rather was proud of how the media was "willing to speak truth to power" during Katrina. The Freepers who exposed Dan's fraudulence should be proud that they spoke truth to the old media's power.
