I know next to nothing about Texas; I see a lot of people saying the Katy area; is that safe?

Pretty much - its mostly prairie/farmland (or used to be) out this way. There is the Brazos River and Jones and Oyster Creeks but I dont look for those latter two to flood. I grew up here and have never heard of the Creeks leaving their banks. The Brazos however, is another matter, but we wont see that until weather goes upstream. but Im still not worried, because they have done much in the way of drainage here.

If you have a map, find Hwy 59 and go south. You will see Richmond along the way. Katy is almost directly north, on Intertate 10.

I think Katy is a very vulnerable area if Joe Bastardi is correct.
