Amazing.

I spoke with a Lt Col we have been working with at the 82nd Airborne to coordinate their redeployment, and he told me a very, very similar story.

I am blown away by this report.

After all the stuff we have moved, I remember one mission where we flew in a Chaplain and boxes of bibles into Naval Air Station New Orleans (Belle Chase) about 2 weeks ago.

Incredible to read that report and see that video.

Yes, I'm familiar with Revelation...and Chapters 10, 11

Who can know the mind of God...indeed, He gives us great insight if we read the Old and New Testaments.

My husband just asked me if I thought we were in the 'End Times'....

..but he knows full well the Bible clearly states no man can foretell when the End Times will come....

..only God knows.

I've only traveled through New Orleans one time.....

..folks talk about its beauty, etc.....

...but from what I could see in the tourist district, it looked shabby & kinda seamy in broad daylight.

I hear it is indeed rife with voodoo, witchcraft, satanism, etc.....

..and we absolutely know debauchery, hedonism and lewdness are commonplace.

The flooding from this coming hurricane might finish it off....who knows.

But God has already told us he has a time for everything and also has a purpose in everything... (meaning no coincidences).

That is a good answer to the coincidence thing...makes a lot of sense. Thx.

I have been to NO many times and agree that it is a center of voodoo and Satanism, etc., but I am afraid those things and other evils are ubiquitous.

Regarding knowing the mind of God...I imagine He is of course infinite but not complex (Holiness is also wholeness). I think that in loving Him, we comprehend/apprehend Him in a big way.

Seems like a lot of the things the soldier claimed the verses say aren't actually THERE. Glad my BS antenna was correct about this story.

I think he was talking about Rev 11:9 where he came up with the 3 days but it was taken completely out of context.

When watching the video they say it is open to Revelation 10 and 11, but the solider describes the passage and says it talks about a great storm that last 3 days, washes away a city, and bodies in the city. Is the solider talking about a different passage. In the background in the clip I can hear the word Ezekiel. I'm just wondering if maybe they are describing a different passage. Look at the bible in the clip. It is not open to the end but looks to be open to where Ezekiel would be.

Good point about Ezekiel.

Another appropriate biblical reference is is Jeremiah 30:23-22-24.

" 'So you will be my people,
and I will be your God.' "

See, the storm of the LORD
will burst out in wrath,
a driving wind swirling down
on the heads of the wicked.

The fierce anger of the LORD will not turn back
until he fully accomplishes
the purposes of his heart.
In days to come
you will understand this.

N.O. ... a den of demons and evil spirits. No wonder it has been washed. Maybe it needs to be scrubbed.

In the spirit of fairness, I'll mention something I also said on another NOLA thread. I went to a wonderful Easter Sunday Mass at the Cathedral that is right there in Jackson Square. I've actually been there twice at Easter, and the other time for a wedding, so maybe I've been a little protected. Mighty creepy vibe, and I grew up in NYC, so it's not like I was just freaked out by the city, or the bawdiness, or the freaks, or the criminals. Though I was sufficiently freaked out by the criminals to leave all my good jewelry home all times I went there.

Well, I doubt I'll ever be back to New Orleans. My friend, thank goodness, hasn't lived there for years.

Reminds me of Metz (which happens to be my last name, but no relation to the person it's named after AFAIK) Elementary in Austin. It's supposed to be haunted and was even featured in a TV show.

BTW, which passage from Revelation were the Bibles opened to?
