When a group of heavily armed trained authorized thugs shows up to take your guns, you cooperate or die - hand 'em over, or the "bullets first" theory will result in a lot of lead being thrown your way. You may take some with you; you may persuade them that further confiscations won't be worth it; you may be praised as an RKBA hero; but you will not be around to observe the consequences ... and for those with family, that will make all the difference.
Forming your own group of heavily armed trained law-abiding militia out of remnants of the neighborhood may prevent the problem. The confiscators may do one at a time, but not take on equal groups.
