"Wearing sandals and the orange robes of a Hindu monk, Swami Paramananda ventured down from his reclusive mountain monastery near Nederland to join a peace rally at the state Capitol on Saturday.

"I don't come out of isolation very often," Paramananda said. "Sometimes, you got to come out and show your colors."

Only 1,000? There were more people at my daughter's dance recital and that didn't make our local daily fish wrapper. One thing I noticed was that there were still at least 100 Bush/Cheney and 'W04' bumper stickers on cars, mini-vans and pick-up trucks in the parking lot though.

A little off topic, but last night on COPS they showed Bizarre arrest special and they had some old hippie guy freaking out in a fast food joint. He started accusing some guy of being George Bush and throwing stuff at people and threatening them. Later he admitted he just got back from a Cross Country Peace March and was exhausted!!

The anti-war (read, anti-American) rally in Denver of a few hundred nutcakes, idlers, dupes and people with too much time on their hands, miss the point.

Peace is nice when you have a strong United States to protect you while you hide in your cave and suck your thumb. But peace without such freedom wouldn't be worth very much.

Mr. Paramananda, or whatever his real name might be, should grow up and get a life.
