Well they do learn something. I had a 7 yoa black child tell me his teacher wouldn't let him play in class because "I'm black and she's just trying to keep the black man down." Mind you the teacher was instructing the class in how to use different strategies to read unfamiliar words, and she was showing her students how to use what they read to get information. This little piece of work wanted to roll on the floor in-between desks, throw stuff at other children, and eat erasers. And before any of you ask, he reads at a below Kindergarten level and can barely identify the letters of the alphabet.
