Are we witnessing an "Oil-for-Fox" scandal in the making?
This is disturbing.

Will it be Jihad News.... Jihad Fair And Balanced Reporting? TM

Yes, he is the same that guy that Rudy told what to do with that check.

Incidentally, this is a growing trend.

Don't forget about the Saud's stock interest in the Disney company. Disney owns, among others, WABC radio and WMAL. WMAL was the former employer of Michael Graham, the talk show host who was fired for "offensive remarks against islam".

Seems like owning a good portion of stock in the media is a good way to silence your critics....dangerous for all of us indeed.

A savvy businessman??? Its pretty easy when you are born with a ruby and diamond encrusted platinum spoon with gold trim in your mouth!!

I agree he got a much better start than you or I, but he is the 4th richest guy in the world. He must be doing something right.

Discussed at length on earlier thread.

saudi prince buys share of Fox News

Also it may seem nitpicky techinal, he didn't buy a 5% of Fox News, but a 5% share of Murdoch's conglomerate News Corp.

Also there is specualtion that the saudi prince buying a 5% share is insurance to Murdoch to stave off a hostile takeover feom John Malone's Liberty Media.

Looks like there is a chance that Fox News will soon become the Dhimmi channel.

If this reporter for an Israeli publication I've never heard of (or you, for that matter, anti-infidel) believe there is a "Fox Corporation" to buy a share of, he/she/you don't know your brains from Shinola.

There is no "Fox Corporation" that is responsible for the content of the Fox News Channel. The name of the corporation that operates Fox News is Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation, based in Australia. And the idea that somehow one minor Saudi investor could somehow tip the balance of Fox News in a pro-Islamist direction is pure unadulterated moonbattery.

Whoever the anonymous author of this nonsense is, s/he needs to listen to General Honore: "Don't get stuck on stupid, reporter!"

Inevitably, this is what happens when we pour billions upon billions of dollars into the Islamic Oil Company's coffers. Eventually it is going to come back to bite us, percent by percent.

We must promote energy independence now. We don't necessarily have to achieve it, but we have to be able to use it as a threat.

It's not "nitpicky technical" to say that a supposed "news" report gets the name of the company flat dead wrong. It's as inexcusable as saying, for example, "Joe Blow bought a share of MSNBC" when the reality is that he either bought Microsoft stock or General Electric stock.

That piece shows lazy thinking from the reporter to the editor all the way up to the publisher, and reduces its source, IMHO, to blog level.

Still, it's somewhat mysterious as to the WHY of someone with a controversial geopolitical identity like the Saudi Prince, buying ANY percentage of shares in FOX news.
Could it really be seen as an "good investment" on the level of their own oil? Should it be seen as a "good-will gesture" in keeping with the other "pro-Western" positions this guy has taken even though, as was also reported, four years ago he submitted a check which Giuliani returned to him, with the strings attached which said, "accept this but admit your partial guilt for the attack". Has he so completely changed his posture in the last 4 years? Just WHAT ARE the motives for buying into FOX if not to use it as some kind of calling card/back-channel access to the Corporation, i.e. as a way to peddle influence, and "buy" good PR.??

rather than let them buy in to our media companies , we need to invade their country , kill all their leaders and convert the populous to Christianity .

Reminds me of the story my dad used to tell about the sale of the Tampa Bay Bucs, back when they had a 0-26 record. Seems a Saudi prince brought his 12-year-old son to America to visit Disneyworld for his birthday. After a fun day in the Kingdom and on the way out to the monorail the price asked the birthday boy if there was anything he wanted before returning to Saudi Arabia. The lad replied, "Yes, a Mickey Mouse outfit". So the prince bought him the Tampa Bay Bucs. (rim shot please)

Oh, no, he's got a stake in Priceline? Gee, does that mean William Shatner's going to have to wear a ghutrah?

Fox was the only station that didn't blame America. Guess that's over.

Fox News is highly successful and getting more so.
The last thing they would do is compromise their leadership position -- 5% isn't squat -- very token indeed. The Arabs are good at buying influence, Saddam and his cousins, the Saudis taught us that.

Games will be games... :-)
