What are they gonna do, just print more $'s ?

Another thread covers the shortfall in asbestos trust funding

Solvency/liabilities of PBGC is no secret

Housing bubble & Fannie Mae solvency ?

Unfunded prescription drug coverage coming on line ?

Social Security remedies - when/how ?

Tab for Iraq war ?

Fed contribution to Katrina recovery ?

I see a pattern developing

Lots O' liabilities - no way to pay !
Or, should we treat all of the foregoing as GW's answer to FDR's Raw New Deal ?

If a viable third-party comes along in 08, I may jump

Take a look at the Constitutional party. Do a Goggle. I vote for their candidates ... they are the only conservative party in the country.

It's not the best...but God help us if Kerry had won the election and one of the houses of Congress. I'll hold my nose, but we're still better off with the Bush man. What's the man supposed to do...not spend money to rebuild the infrastructure???? Give me a break!!

The time to dump republicans will be the day after we have runoff elections and can be assured that voting for something other than a dem or a republican will not automatically elect the dem.

I must agree that runoff elections are the key, buy I don't think we will ever see them.

1.) Runoff elections would destroy the hold that the 2 parties have on our country.

2.) All elections other than the electoral college election of the president are state elections and the election laws are controlled at the state level.

"I may sit out the next election. Why vote? Tax and spend is all I get no matter who I vote for..........."

If it makes any difference to you, that's precisely what the Daily Kos crowd would like to see happen.

The better option is to participate in GOP primaries, and vote for the conservative. If that doesn't work, then you can say you did your bit.

"What's the man supposed to do...not spend money to rebuild the infrastructure???? Give me a break!!"

Where infrastructure needs to be maintained and expanded, those in the area can pay for it.

When the Feds do it, very quicky people lose site of how much money is being thrown around. When it's money closer to you, you spend it more wisely.

It looks as though we have a choice of "Creeping Socialism" or "Rampant Socialism". One way or another we get there. On a bus or a jet plane..........

Doesn't Delay have poor poll numbers in his Republican-heavy riding, the 22nd District?

It would be a good way to send a message to the party if an independent conservative (say, the Conservative Party candidate) would run against Delay and the Dem, during the '06 midterm elections.

A more notable example of this manoever is when Bill Buckley's brother, James, ran for US senate, from New York. He actually won, in 1970, became a Republican, and lost his re-election in '76. But it goes to show, it can be done. In the worst case scenario, if the Dem beat Delay and the conservative third party candidate, it would be *no lose* whatsoever. That guy is doing serious damage.
