The French fought VERY hard in World War I, and in just six weeks of World War II lost more soldiers killed than the U.S. Army did during the entire war, so the "surrender monkey" label is most unfair.

You are not quite right.
According to stats, most deaths
were French civilians.

World War II Casualties

French Soldiers: 123,000
French Civilians: 470,000
French Deaths: 593,000

US Soldiers: 405,400
US Civilians:
US Deaths: 405,400
