Updated Vote Count for Judge John Roberts Updated 7:16 am 9/27/05
From various MSM sources, and including the Judiciary Committee votes from September 22:
Out of 44 Democratic Senators, heres how our side plans to vote on the confirmation of Judge John Roberts.
No Votes (17):
Senator Harry Reid (NV) Senator Edward Kennedy (MA) Senator John Kerry (MA) Senator Jon Corzine (NJ) Senator Frank Lautenberg (NJ) Senator Barbara Boxer (CA) Senator Edward Kennedy (MA) Senator Joseph Biden (DE) Senator Dianne Feinstein (CA) Senator Chuck Schumer (NY) Senator Dick Durbin (IL) Senator Barack Obama (IL) Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (NY) Senator Debbie Stabenow (MI) Senator Mark Dayton (MN) Senator Evan Bayh (IN) Senator Barbara Mikulski (MD)
Yes Votes (14): Senator Max Baucus (MT) Senator Patrick Leahy (VT) Senator Tim Johnson (SD) Senator Herb Kohl (WI) Senator Russ Feingold (WI) Senator Bill Nelson (FL) Senator Ben Nelson (NE) Senator Mark Pryor (AR) Senator Robert Byrd (WV) Senator Jeff Bingaman (NM) Senator Kent Conrad (ND) Senator Ken Salazar (CO) Senator Bill Nelson (FL) Senator Mary Landrieu (LA)
KKKKKKByrd voting yes??????
someone suggested yesterday that if the vote were secret, Roberts would get something closer to a 96-3 vote. The issue is that the democratic base is so rabidly anti Bush that it is required to oppose him on everything, even if what he recommends would be a positive to Dem voters.
Remarkable how many "yes" votes are up for re-election in '06.
Probably just a coincidence.
Yes, KKKByrd voting yes...he is up to somenthing? Like his re-election in WV?
Missing both CT senators.
I suspect Lieberman is a yes (because he's part of the gang of 14 and he needs to show sincerity)
I suspect Dodd is a no (because he's a Kennedy-esque toe-the-liberal-line partisan hack)
They are coming up later today (CT Senators). Roberts may get more than 80 votes.
No, probably around 72-75 votes. He won't cross 80 under any circumstance.
Except for Bayh (IN). His "no" is proof pudding he's going to try to run for Pres in 2008. ;)
I Might of known. Senator Edward Kennedy (MA) will vote twice.
How come Bill Nelson(FL) gets to vote yes twice?
His first vote was a hanging chad
If you take out Chicago, IL is a fairly red state. It is so sad to see that those of us who do not live up there are represented by such scum. I've written letters to both of my senators, but have not gotten a response back from either one.
Same with New York State. They should take out the People's Republic on NYC and NYS is a red state.
Looks like Bill Nelson gets two votes. No wonder Frist is having such a hard time :-)
He lives in a Red State and is running for reelection next year.
14 plus 54 = 68. Can't Filibuster this time. Too bad.
You have Kennedy twice.
They are gearing up to obstruct the next nominee.
