My wife and I were in LA a couple of weeks before the storm hit. We ate lunch in New Iberia, which is right along the Bayou Teche. The restaurant owner told us that Teche means snake, in the local Indian dialect. The name reflects the winding of the bayou like a snake.

I hope you guys don't forget this topic. You're going to be hearing a lot about it in the future. It ain't just allergies. There are some people who can't physically offload the toxins produced by the mold, and the illness is incurable. I know this, because I suffer from it myself. And I know the NOLA area, because my family is (was :( ) from there - going back over 200 years to before the river's course was engineered to produce much of the nightmare we're seeing today. We think we've lost about 12 to the storm. Waiting final word from the morgue.

But the mold thing - yes, it's very real. It just doesn't affect everyone the same way. You don't have to know the biology of it. Just ask yourself this one question - when they do mold remediation on government buildings, like, ohhhh---the LA Governor's mansion for example - THEY WEAR HAZMAT SUITS! The GAO has a major contract open on this kind of work - had it since last year, well before Katrina. But the people of the area are sent in with nothing more than advice to wear rubber gloves and bring some bleach. We're looking at a public health nightmare that falls squarely under the constitutional provisions to care for the common welfare, and the people are being gaslighted, big time. THE CDC KNOWS! They also wear hazmat suits. Funny thing about the toxins - they don't care if you're conservative or not. I had actually quit posting here for several years myself, due to the illness.

So when you start hearing the tales of PTSD and depression, MS, cancers, asthma in children, and a host of other misdiagnosed illnesses - think chronic neurotoxins. Think mold. There are thousands of us working together on this, trying desperately hard to get the government to tell the truth about it. They DO know! The Institute of Medicine, the US Dept of Commerce, and the ACOEM are up to their eyeballs in it, and we have proof of their corrupt influence. Half the people being quoted in the mold-related news releases playing this thing down are known, very highly-paid professional defense witnesses.

It's hard as hell, knowing we're going to be seeing more Americans wearing our shoes - stumbling around, all spazzed out and in pain much of the time. It's all about the money, all right - but not like you think. Tell a friend. For more info, visit www.yahoo.sickbuildings.com.
