Dan (Rather) Wants Second Go At Bush! (Still Insists Memogate Story Is True!)

September 28, 2005 -- DAN Rather wants to reopen the investigation into President Bush and the National Guard story that resulted in the Memogate scandal and led to his early departure from the anchor desk. But his bosses at CBS have forbidden him to go back at it, he said.
"CBS News doesn't want me to do that story," Rather said. "They wouldn't let me do that story,"
Rather continues to insist that the story was correct and suggested in the interview that he and the network may have been set up by some outsider.
"There are some strange, and to me, still mysterious things," he said. "Certainly unexplained things that happened about how it got attacked and why, even before the program was over," Rather said.
The report, delivered by Rather last September, was discredited two weeks later after drawing fire, first from politically conservative Web logs and later from mainstream media.
"I believed in the story," Rather said. "The facts of the story were correct.
"One supporting pillar of the story, albeit an important one, one supporting pillar was brought into question," he said. "To this day, no one has proven whether it was what it purported to be or not."

Makes me wonder... how much of Dan Rather's daughter is behind the Delay indictment?

Something tells me that you will NEVER get a straight answer from him. Not surprising given his admittance of partaking in psychoactives, euphorics and narcotics (explains a lot, it does). We'll have to settle for what others have found.

Have you seen a picture of his off-spring? How do you know you are looking at a female? I don't know what it is but it does resemble Dan. If it is female, no wonder she is so angry!

I have a question, at what point do these accusations cross over to be libel and/or slander. I know the burden of proof is much harder for someone in the public eye, but it is still a matter of printing or saying something that you know is untrue.
It is my dream that people begin to sue those in the main stream media when they not only get it wrong, but keep getting it wrong. Take a few million out of their pockets and they may understand they are not free to print what ever they wish anymore, unless it is the truth.

~LOL~ -- yes, during RatherGate we saw Rather too much of his spawn.

Blather is just another lying treasonous rat bastard that has been let off the hook, just like Berger, Kerry, Kennedy, Both Clinton's et al. When you have them down you need to finish the job. Blather tried to influence a National Election and should have been prosecuted and put in jail, yet here he is blathering on about his big lie again.

The best part(s) of both Hanoi John Effin' Kerry and Dan Rather ended up as a stain on a mattress. FACT.
Talk about a waste of dna, in both cases.

I heard just this morning that Brown ws put in charge of FEMA as a reward for covering up W.'s National Guard service.
This story is still alive amongst the more disassociative...

re: slander and liability. Not actionable by someone who is President.
Westmoreland was able to bring an action because his "public life" was "caused" by his military service, etc., not because he sought publicity.
No Presidential, Senatorial, Congressional, Gubernatorial or even State Senate, Rep, or mayoral candidate could ever sustain a libel or slander action, because they seek publicity to build their campaign, etc.

Dan Rather has lost his mind. Are you implying that Dan Rather had a mind to loose? I don't think so.
