Reuters if full of crap.

Most people who served in the Green Zone know that the reporters usually stay hunkered down in the Al-Rashid hotel and rarely venture into the field to do actual reporting.

Reporters rely on telephone interviews and Iraqi stringers to do the grunt work.

Sounds like good news to me! Who do they think should be controlling them? Sadam?

Being a forward observer for an enemy of US troops has always been a hazardous occupation

US forces admitted killing three Reuters journalists, ...

That really ticks me off. They should have killed all of them...

An Iraqi working for a news agency is “imbedded” with a terrorist cell. The news agency wants footage from the Jihadists’ view. The journalist is killed in the resulting firefight.
How it is the fault of the Coalition Forces?

They should be shot as spies.

Yes, the "Sherman Option" should become SOP in combat areas.

"US forces 'out of control', says Reuters chief"

Considering the source, I won't even read the story.

I can't remember which FReeper came up with it but the tagline was:

The enemy of America is the Media. Act accordingly.

So true, so true.

Reuters and other reputable international news organisations

Rather presumptuous.

Reuters, AP, AFP, BBC...

These news organizations contribute and encourage the deaths of American and coalition soldiers as well as civilians. They want the foreign and domestic terrorist of and in Iraq to win.

I really don't give a damn what happens to them.

Reuters chief via the Guardian?

That's like saying Lenin via Pravda.

So from what I've read on this thread, The Guardian isn't a reliable news source and neither is Reuters. However, if it does happen to be true that US soldiers are shooting/imprisoning journalists, then that's just peachy because all journalists are the enemy.

Heh.

After all they(the "insurgents") are just harmless downtrotten peaseants defending their homes. Surely they wouldn't harm reporters/(gag)

This from the news "service" that can't bring itself to call terrorists, terrorists. Reuters = Treason.

There'd be no problem if Reuters didn't hire terrorists to be reporters.

Exactly

If we were shooting *real* journalists that would not be cool. But I suspect the truth is that Reuters is hiring stringers that are terrorists and we're killing them in the matter of course.

If that's the case, then Reuters is collaborating with terrorists and we should treat them the same way Bush promised to treat states that sponsor terror. We should shut them down and put them in jail.

WELL! Then the only thing Reuters can do is simply refuse to cover the Iraqi war. That'll fix the military.

I think the training programs for the troops needs to be reexamined. To many of the journalists have gotten away...
