This past weekend, Father Frank Pavone visited with the Schindlers (parents and brothers and sisters of Terri Schiavo).
He went with the family to bless the tombstone that Michael Schiavo had set up his Terri Schiavo.
On the tombstone, according to the family and Fr. Frank, it reads: ...passed away from this world in 1990
But we all know that autopsy was not started until after her death in the spring of 2005 -- just before the death of Pope John Paul II.
Father Pavone contends that makes the disabled less than human.

And that is a matter of opinion.
In other words, someone who is still breathing is dead?
Okay, strawman...name a single doctor who examined Mrs. Schiavo and diagnosed her as "brain-dead"...
Name a single neurologist who examined her and said she was not in a Persistent Vegetative State (doctors who advertise in the National Enquirer don't count).
>crickets<
How sad that the accurate date of her life isn't on her tombstone.
Can can the truth be presented there?
She was a living human being until she was murdered earlier this year.
Michael Schiavo may also believe the moon is made of green cheese, but reality plods on independently of his delusions.
AMEN!
Thank you, Spiff. It IS more appropriate.
God bless her memory. Thankfully, she is home with Jesus now.
No, they are not less human, whether dead or not.
The only date that counts is what's on the death certificate. Tombstones are like billboards, they contain the info that the purchaser wants on them. I for one would love to have this inscripted on mine.
See, I told you I was sick.
Michael Schiavo's statement that Terry died in 1990 means that her soul left her human remains at that time, and the fight for her soulless, lifeless body for the last 15 years has been a total farce -- I'm serious that he's wrong, dead wrong.
Later pingout.
It's always good to put in a keyword or two when you post an article, or it will never turn up in a FR search...
Helpful hint.
A lie is a lie no matter how many people believe it
The truth is the truth even if no one believes it.
Michael Schiavo refused to allow a full MRI or PET scan examination of Terri, and thus refused to allow other neurologists (including the Mayo Clinic neurologist) to fully examine her. Dr (Death) Ronald Cranford from the U of Minn (who has misdiagnosed other PVS cases) examined Terri for 45 min, but conducted no neurological tests, thumped her extremely hard on the forehead to test her receptiveness to pain, and then declared as the court's expert medical witness that she was PVS. He should be conficted for malpractice.
Actually there were some 35 neurologists or doctors as I recall that declared that Terri was not properly examined or diagnosed.
Where are you getting your misinformation from? The same pro-death lobby, courts, Michael Schiavo, and MSM that couldn't wait to starve Terri to death just to see what it felt like?
Not a TOTAL farce, but indeed a farce, your seriousness notwithstanding.
"convicted" not conficted
"...The same pro-death lobby, courts, Michael Schiavo, and MSM that couldn't wait to starve Terri to death just to see what it felt like?"
WOW, just by the sudden shock of being confronted by this... er... thought, for a second I thought I had logged onto DU by mistake.
Michael Schiavo's statement that Terry died in 1990 means that her soul left her human remains at that time, and the fight for her soulless, lifeless body for the last 15 years has been a total farce
You make a good point. There are many who felt that the intervention that allowed Mrs. Schiavo's body to recover somewhat also prevented her soul from moving on to a place of rest. I recall people believing she was "trapped" here on earth until her soul could be released and that it was cruel to keep her from her Father.
Bottom line, nobody knows...and I am not one to say that I knew her or her beliefs better than the man she chose to marry and share a life with. I just hope that if I am ever in her state, I will be allowed a large slug of morphine or other appropriate means to go peacefully.
"Passed from this world in 1990" indeed.
