This will bring significant economic growth to the area. Plus next to the $250B+ that Landrieu and Blanco are demanding, this $15B is chump change.

Daley is going to get indicted some day. What an absolute tool this guy is. Always dreaming up new ways to steal more money from the taxpayers via new fees, taxes and parking restrictions. The guy is a clown.
What Chicagoland needs is a 3rd airport out west, where a lot of the population is moving. Heck, the people of Naperville could probably support their own airport.
Instead, we'll get O'Hare becoming even more of a pain in the ass while its under construction. All the while Daley and his goomba friends get rich.

There was a perfectly good air strip downtown on lake Michigan that was destroyed for no good reason (a park for the mayors wife?).

Odd.
No comments on the stupidity of the design? Converting to 6 E-W parallel runways.
Chicago is the windy city. Think back to all those clips of 747's crabbing at Kai Tek . . .
