Good statement.
We can start with the name "The War on Terror". It is foolish and does not confront the issue. Terror is an effect of a violent action. Since we do not have the moral courage to call out our enemies by name, how are we even going to confront the reality of what they are?
Look at ramadan. It has days with in it the allow for a higer degree of martydom if you die killing an infidel. And this is the group that you are advocting will become healthy and happy members who wish to mirror western culture simply by getting to vote. It is also the group that produces bombers who gladly kill their fellow western citizens in order to appease their religious beliefs.
So until the islamic belief goes through its own reformation, we will continue to see horrific actions from it's members who truly believe they are supporting God by blowing up themselves and someone eating dinner in Bali.
Iraq as currently fought will have absolutly no impact on the chance to have islam go through a reformation and truly become a"religion of peace".
