Good question.
Souter surprised them. Myself.. choose strict constructionist over conservative if a choice is to be made.

Bush*s choice is obvious. It will be Janice Rogers Brown.""
I so hope you are right.

You really should give it a rest."""
No, I shouldn't. The next appointment to the Supreme Court is incredibly important. If it isn't important to you that a true conservative is nominated, then you're free to ignore Supreme Court threads. But don't criticize me because I realize the importance of the issue.

Roberts helped out a radical gay rights lawsuit (the Colorado case); Souter had never been involved in anything like that. Souter was a known pro-abortionist prior to his nomination, but only a few people knew his background. Rudman knew it and kept it secret because he was a backstabbling social liberal. Howard Phillips knew it and tried to stop Souter. In the age of the internet, Souter would have never made it. And Roberts helping out in the gay rights case was role-playing Scalia for his collegues. It is bull crap to keep bring that dog up.

Ginger and Maryann were pretty cute too.

I always wondered what happened to this wacky broad. She used to work for the Noise and Disturber (news and observer) of Raleigh. She turned out to be too far out for even the sock puppet of the NC DNC.
Ms Rodell, here's a way to get the justices your want.
Elect you own damn president and elect enough Dem Senators to shove your pick through the Senate.

I looked at your post I agree with you.
Good mention about if Kerry was in office. If that had happened, half the country would turned over to China and anyone else that wanted a piece, and what was left would be in a civil war /sarc>

I think this is where I recently saw her name highlighted:
One name being floated at the moment is that of Harriet Miers, who succeeded Gonzales as White House counsel when Gonzales ascended to attorney general.
Miers would seem an attractive candidate: a career corporate lawyer, mature and terminally hardworking. But she was right in the thick of the Gonzales machine when those deadly guidelines were being fashioned. Plus she has never been a judge not specifically required, but for such a crucial appointment, Id argue, a pretty good idea.

Rush just had a good point. If you want to go to war, would you do it the Senate Republicans as your soldiers? Maybe the WhiteHouse is looking at that.

I must confess that her name came out of nowhere as far as I am concerned, but at least she has the right kind of work ethic and work qualities that President Bush feels confident she will be a GREAT pick for USSC.

I'm trying to keep in mind that at least John Kerry isn't making these choices.A good point that bears repeating.

Listened to Rush this morning on the way to the grocery store, and he had a good point that Miers is more than likely a devout Christian, Evangelical perhaps, and many of these same Democrats like Harry Reid who are celebrating this pick may turn around and vote her down just based on that.
I thought to myself "Yeah, they were celebrating John Roberts and they voted Nay", so there is a possibility that alot of this left-winged celebratory mood may well be just an act.
They already have overplayed their hand and said last week on the day Judge Roberts became Chief Justice that they would filibuster the next nominee, no matter who it is.

By the hour, democrats are becoming unhappier. No paper trail -- now they're wanting in-house memos and notes. From the WH counsel! LOL!!!!
Key words: SOUTHERN, Christian, woman.

Think the rats will make good on their 'promise/threat' of last week to fillibuster the nominee?

I think they'll make good on their promise/threat. I'm certain the praise from the left is faux praise.
