"...and stealing pens..."

* sniff sniff *

What's that I'm smelling? Burning the heretics at the stake?

From Captain's Quarters:

"...Fifth, yes, LTC Shaffer took pens and pads from the American Embassy to use at school. However, it was nearly 30, not 20, years ago, in the 1978-79 timeframe - when he was 15 and 16 years old. And, again, this previously investigated and favorably adjudicated."

Glad we got to the bottom of that...LOL

""Stealing pens." WTF?

The whole office here is going to jail then...."

Seems about 30 years ago he took some pens and tablets from an embassy to do his school work. He was 16 and 17 at the time. Uh - I think he owned up to it.

And yes everyone in my office and company as well will join you all - maximum security? Right?

I am a witness, he stole a toothpick from the cafe on the corner. Then he only left a 14% tip.

Bastard. (sic)

Just found some post-its that date from my active duty time - am now looking up how to citizen's-arrest myself.

Well....someone once told me, "Life is too short to go through it with an ugly pen."

Ok, I admit that I had a beer under age, 32 years ago. I feel I have now elevated myself to a new level of consciousness. What a Rush!! LOL

So-called Dan Rather is an imaginary beast of myths and fables that in reality does not exist, and has never existed. It is an assumed name under which Baghdad Bob has been working in the United States. Has anybody EVER seen them both in the same place simultaneously?

Thanks for the reference.

Before anyone takes unwarranted potshots at the Army, your reference is required reading.

I think they are just embarrassed that the failure of the Pentagon to follow up on the Atta leads led directly to 9-11. Talk about black eyes. They just want this story buried, and Schaffer wants it out.

"... am now looking up how to citizen's-arrest myself."

I think arresting yourself might be illegal. You're just rackin' 'em up buddy.

Depends on the part of the Pentagon. The Army looks good; they promoted him. The DIA look like vindictive idiots.

At least he wasn't trying to pick up little girls at McDonalds.

If memory serves, ol' "Inspector" Ritter was trying to do that at Burger King.
