Why is the pompous phony considered such a fountain of knowledge by the MSM?

Because he was among the first to betray his country?

The Founding Fathers had a SIMPLER test:

In order to vote you had to own a specific
aount of land! That made you a part of the
Landed Gentry, and YOUR group called the
shots for all citizens who lacked education
and family connections.

Fortunately or unfortunately, we gave that
up some generations back!

"Cronkite said journalists need to find a way to better inform the public..."

No, Uncle Walter. Schools need to teach REAL American history and the Constitution!

"The CBS legend also said that he fears that the blogosphere could threaten the standing of the mainstream media..."

What standing of the MSM?? The MSM has been sinking into obscurity for a long time now. The blogosphere has been shining the light of truth onto what the MSM has been reporting, and the MSM can't stand up to the truth. What are you afraid of Uncle Walter? Competition? The Truth? Your ideology being exposed for what it is -- socialism/communism???

Take heart, based on the performances of all the liberals, actors and politicians, the majority of the American people didn't buy their propaganda then and I don't think they are buying it now. The last elections show that Americans are not as ignorant as Walter would like us to believe.

Are you sure about the U of Texas part. My parents knew Betsy and Walter at the U of Missouri, Columbia.

If President Gore or Kerry were in office the lefty elites like Cronkite would have a completely different attitude.
---
Yes, and I like that they have the attitude they have now.
I hope they keep to for decades.

I wonder if he is still known as Kommrad Walter in the Kremlin?
That worthless bastard caused a lot of innocent blood to be shed in Vietnam, Cambodian and Laos. He's a traitor.
Walter is on the same piss on their grave list as Robt. McNamara and Bill Clinton.

Actually, he's partyly right. The public is extremely ignorant about government. Study after study shows this. Still....I'd rather disfranchise Uncle Walter than Joe Six pack.

FDR was elected by many people without a high school education. Immigrant newcomers and others not well educated elected many presidents. Cronkite is an elitist snob without a clue. How many people does he associate with that are hard working high school grads? He probably does not even speak to the people that clean his sailboat, mow his lawn or clean his bathrooms. Cronkite is a perfect poster boy for the elitist snobs that compose the inner circle of the Democrat party.

Why do so many Democrat run inner city school systems fail? The Cronkite element of the party do not really care at all about the "education" because they want to keep them uneducated and uninformed to vote Democrat. The churches in the cities should wake up and demand better schools from these Democrat con artists before they allow them one more campaign session in the minority churches.

"We [as a nation] are not educated well enough to perform the necessary act of intelligently selecting our leaders," CBS News legend Walter Cronkite told the University of Southern California's Annenberg School...

LOL. He doesn't like the choice, so Americans are stupid. Isn't Cronkite the same clown who took the Clinton "family" for a boat ride after Bill admitted to staining Monica's dress?

"I should also note that Hillary made this same point at the U.N. Women's Forum in India in 1997. She said that America will not have a woman president re:her, until we do away with general elections for president and move to a Parlement style congress."

***I can barely refrain from uttering a paragraph of obscenities directed at Hillary Soros Clinton and her BLATANTLY subversive anti-American/unAmerican self-serving blatterrot. Hillary is absolutely TREACHEROUS!

Donate to the Jeanine Pirro's (NY) U.S. senator campaign. If Hillary loses her Senate seat, her power and presence are highly diminished for the '08 presidential campaign. By NOT being a senator at the time, Hillary doesn't have a tight hold on the MEDIA for spin.

Defeat Hillary Clinton's re-election to the U.S. senate.

Exactly. If intelligence were a qualification for voting, the Democrats wouldn't hold a single office in the country.
