Looks like Planned Parenthood a/k/a Abortions-R-Us, opposes the nomination of Harriet Miers because of her attempt to overturn the ABA's abortion position.
--Snippit--
"During Miers' tenure as head of the Texas Bar Association she was a leader in the campaign to reverse the American Bar Association's pro-choice position on the right to choose. Had this campaign been successful, which it was not, the ABA would have been returned to its former position of neutrality."

If true, she at least looks a little better.
Planned parenthood would oppose ANY Bush nominee.
But I'm not excited about his choice.
But... but she's a female Souter! Bush has betrayed us! How can this be?!
They would oppose a ham sandwich.
FYI
Well, at least she is opposed by all the right people.
Gasp!!! Imagine That! The baby grinders are opposed to a Bush nominee! What are the odds if that?!?
ping!
The Rats have already started nibbling and it is not on cheese.
But......but.............but......she's pro-life. The Unappeasables told me so this very morning!
I know nothing about Miers, but if P.P. and NOW are against her I tend to support the nomination...SSZ
Right before Leahy and Schumer demand MORE paperwork.
But, but not one hour ago I was told by really reliable sources (who will never vote for a republican again) here on Freeperville that she was so pro-abort she not only gave to Al Gore she did her own back alley abortions before Roe V Wade.
Whats up?
"People who support this abortionrights resolution want the prestige of the ABA behind the pro-choice movement," Texas bar President Harriet Miers said Monday, arguing against adoption of the resolution supporting abortion rights."
Wall Street Journal 08-12-1992 Legal Beat: Bar Association Votes to Back Abortion Rights
All you need to remember is ..
WE ARE DOOMED!!
"AP, 2/2/1992, on whether as President she would ask a potential nominee how he or she would rule on abortion:
Nominees are clearly prohibited from making such a commitment and presidents are prohibited from asking for it, said Harriet Miers, a Dallas lawyer and president-elect of the State Bar of Texas.
In 1993, after the ABA had voted to adopt a pro-choice stance, the State Bar of Texas, under Miers leadership, fought to have the issue put to a vote of the full ABA membership. She said:
If we were going to take a position on this divisive issue, the members should have been able to vote.
In favor of democracy on the issue of abortion? Lets hope she carries that through."

So was Souter.
