London 03.10.05 | Venezuelan army general Nestor Gonzalez Gonzalez and former director of Venezuela's political police (DISIP) Johan Peña had made a series of allegations and accusations against Hugo Chavez regarding the harboring of wanted Al Qaeda terrorist Mustafa Nasar, Uranium development in Venezuela and support and state protection to Colombian narcoterrorists amongst other things. Johan Peña gives a chilling account (video in Spanish here) on the whereabouts of Nasar and how he enjoys the protection of Carlos Lanz, former terrorist-kidnapper cum boss of Venezuela's aluminum conglomerate Alcasa.

General Gonzalez Gonzalez on the other hand shows, with the help of a Venezuelan map, various locations identified by the Venezuelan army where Colombian guerrillas from the Revolutionary Forces (FARC) rest, regroup and launch attacks to Colombia. He personally briefed Hugo Chavez in exquisite detail in February 2001 about the presence of FARC camps in border areas. Gonzalez Gonzalez argues that the FARC are but the armed component that shall force the revolutionary project that Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez want to implement upon the region.

This is explosive stuff. This isn't some dissident saying this, this is a general of the Venezuelan army. He's charging Hugo Chavez with harboring terrorists - al-Qaida terrorists intent on destroying the west. Hugo Chavez is nothing more than a regional menace right at our doorstep. He is a growing threat to us.

Yes, I've noticed that over at DU. I really think that DU has a significant number of overseas contributors whose function is to keep the socialist/communist leaning Americans in a state of turmoil, trying to foment a revolution from within.

When is the left going to learn? They tried a popular front approach in Iran. The first thing the mullahs did on assuming power is chuck the Trots in jail.

Yes,

Actually that is a fact! If you go on the web and look at the war in the Balkans you will se many "fake" NATO web sites that are actually Serb run. They are intended as "Psychological operations" against the NATO states waging war.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=serbia+nato if you search you’ll actually find fake NATO sites that even look like the real deal.

In Iraq 2003 France actually conducted planned and targeted Psyop against the US. Realize that France did NOT ratify the NATO definition of Psyop and hence the AJP does not apply.

China has several BATTALIONS worth of people who's sole purpose is to play on the World Wide Web and conduct Psyop.

Yes, the WWW is full of wolves in sheep’s skin. Anonymous they can easily exploit this media without being recognized for what they are. Some will say we too have Psyop, and this is true, but our Psyop is not “black” Psyop where the source is hidden.

Some in the US are worried about explicit content and having their kids exposed to this. Few are worried about deliberate state sponsored Psychological Operations which are intended to change perceptions and attitudes. While we all engage in this personally even here in the FR, we are no “state” sponsored agents with an agenda and unified plan. It’s no real secret who we are and what our motives are. That is not the case with the Serb “propaganda” that was generated years ago and is still floating out there.

Very pertinent points. In this sense I can tell that Chavez, aided by Castro's inanity machinery, is simply rewriting history through the propagandistic e-conduits. The other day someone here in london told me "oh but Chavez nationalised Venezuela's oil industry and made education and healthcare free for everyone". Now this is simply a lie and can easily be demonstrated. However how many other lies are being spread? What sort of Western person, respectful of laws, institutions and authorities, ever questions the statements of a president of a country? Thus protected by the mantle of credibility provided by its investiture Chavez travels the planet talking nonsense and a lot of people fall for his crap. Worrying indeed and the US is at the receiving end of an extraordinarily powerful propaganda campaign of global scope.

The same prediction has been made about Fidel since at least 1960, and he's still there.

And Chavez has the advantage of oil revenue, and thousands of Cuban intelligence operatives to help him to cement his revolution.

It's quite a problem. V's oil is giving Cuban communism another lease on life, and Cuban communists are helping to ensure Chavez can't ever be pushed out. At the same time, this unholy alliance is spreading the infection of communism (by whatever name you choose) all over Latin America.

I just wonder if communism will survive Fidel in Cuba, even with the oil and $$$ from Venezuela.

Since the US is the Leading Nation in many UN/NATO/counter narcotics and other operations, the US becomes the largest target on the enemies radar screen. Whether Korea, Vietnam, Somalia, Columbia, Iraq or Afghanistan; we are the real movers and shakers behind the scene and if we pack up, the bad guys win. It really is that simple. If we leave Afghanistan today, all other will follow suit just as they did in Somalia.

Most our enemies know they can not win in conventional war. As in Vietnam the enemy tries to divide and conquer. Even within our own boarders there are cracks and weaknesses that can be exploited. The “real” lesson learned in Vietnam is that you can defeat a military giant against whom you loose EVERY SINGLE BATTLE by breaking the public will of the masses in the US. That’s no lesson the liberal wants to accept and unfortunately Kerry, Kennedy, the Sheehan’s, France, Germany, and Michael Moore’s out there prove it right.

Stalin once said, “The Capitalist will sell you the rope with which you’ll hang em.” There is a lot of truth in that. Look at our media, politics internal, other allied nations, etc.

The internet can make any crackpot weirdo appear as an “expert” or “official”. It’s a great place to leak information and hide anonymously while feeding selected tid-bits of information that supports ones cause. Global in reach (Unlike FM or TV), cheaply and highly effective, the Internet is a fantastic place to wage a Psyop campaign against someone. It’s easy for even two 16 year olds to appear as “official” or authoritative! Of course we can poke fun at this fact as well:

http://www.dhmo.org/facts.html

The issue here is simple. The US has a tight noose around it’s neck legally what the intel community and DoD is “allowed” to do. While our enemies are not necessarily all united and working together in concert, they do realize what our weakness is and since we are the lead in many issues and places we become the ones whose nose they try to bloody. Example: ½ of all RAF dead are Americans. Many Lit path attacks in Peru are against Americans. N. Korea used to target? The Abu Sayyef group in the Philippines? The Islamic terrorist in the Middle East or Caucasus? Being the leader of the pack carries a price tag!

Well, they've had 40 years to work on it!

But if anything, La CIA

has gone the other way since the Church Commission in the 1970s.
