Don't have no income. Don't need to file.

Just like Al Sharpton.

I lived outside (thank God, not *IN*) DC in the late '80s, during the "murder capital days" and during Marion's heyday. Let me tell you, they could show, on live TV, Marion Barry wearing spiked shoes jumping up and down on a box of cute fuzzy puppies, while firing an AK-47 randomly into a crowd of senior citizens, and he'd STILL get 85% of the vote for City Council because he'd be able to convince the sheeple that the whole thing was computer-generated special effects created by Karl Rove and Halliburton.

If he runs for mayor, he wins. Bank on it.

Basically, the District of Columbia is the world's biggest plantation. And there's damn near a half-million black and other minority slaves living there, totally loyal to their massas in the Democratic Party and their straw boss, Marion "Bitch Set Me Up" Barry, while they slide further into poverty and hopelessness.

If there was ever a Katrina-scale natural disaster in the District, believe me, what you'd see coming out of there would make New Orleans look like Candyland. It's pretty near Somalia on the Potomac, has been for a long time, and I fear it will never get much better.

Anthony Williams represents them much better.
Carol Schwartz represents them better.
That stripped bicycle I see at 10th and L Streets NW would represent them better.

Guys, Barry is washed up and the only place his appeal is still strong is Ward 8, east of the Anacostia. The city is a far cry from the bad old days of Barry. Personally I have to keep walking longer distances because there's so much new construction, and the construction is bringing in more people with money. Barry's appeal is to the poor and the gravy train. The gravy train doesn't stop in Ward 8 anymore.

When George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and the Congress of the 1790s planned a new national capital in the place now known as Washington, DC could they ever have imagined that one day a depraved charlatan like Marion Barry would be its Mayor and then a City Councilman????? Could they possibly have foreseen how far we would sink....?

Thanks and please excuse my Naivete.

During the Clinton administration I once asked here on FreeRepublic why 98% of the people in D.C voted for Clinton. Live and learn.

It just seems to me that it is so ironic that there is such a liberal bent near the capital.

We fought a war against the British for individual freedom and we enslave ourselves. How pathetic!

Thanks. Regards.

This explains why my wife says the scale hates her...

Great! I love it!

I'll have to add that one.

For the same reason that he's still in the the D.C. government after being arrested for drug possession. Pretty amazing though. Voters there have to be some of the dumbest in the country.

Let's see anyone who posts here get a misdeamenor plea on the same charges.

In all honesty, you don't even get charged with the misdemeanor if you don't owe any money, even for non-filings at least ten years old, if you file them pretty quickly after they start attaching wages and emptying your bank account.

...assuming there's no fraud and everything is on the up-and-up and documentable, etc.

An enjoyable read...
What a joke he was as a Mayor. It's really quite laughable.

Barry is completing the first year of his new term on the D.C. Council and has been mentioned as a potential candidate for council chair next year.

But now, sources tell News4 that Barry will plead guilty to a misdemeanor offense for failing to pay federal income taxes for seven years. Details are being worked out with U.S. Attorney Kenneth Wainstein and other federal authorities.

Guess he's a shoe-in for the chairmanship.
