ALBUQUERQUE -- Mayor Chavez has been re-elected as Mayor of Albuquerque with 47% of the vote, avoiding a run-off election. KRQE News 13 has called the Living Wage issue as having failed with 50.88% against and 3 precincts remaining.
Can't say anything about the mayor (since I don't live in Albuquerque, heck, I don't live in New Mexico period, so I don't have a dog in this fight), but I was interested in the Living Wage initiative. I'm glad it is failing.
Sheesh. That sounds awfully close.... Just how far down the toilet IS Albuquerque??
As long as this minimum wage stuff is localized I'm all for it. After it becomes a total failure you can simply point to the town where it happened and use it as a good example of what not to do.
But by only 1%!
