How can you fight a war against the Democrats on the Court if your Republican Senator aren't there to back you up?

I can name at least six Senators (McCain, Chafee, Snow, Collins, DeWine, Voinovich) that came out publically and said they would not support "extreme" candidates such as Owen and Brown.

The President would be a fool to go into battle without an army. He was left with the choice of losing the battle or winning it with a stealth candidate.

It will be elections of 2006 that will be important to gain as many CONSERVATIVE seats as possible.

with a stealth candidate

That is the part that is unsettling and questionable.

from Dictionary.com:

stealth
n.
  1. The act of moving, proceeding, or acting in a covert way.
  2. The quality or characteristic of being furtive or covert.
  3. Archaic. The act of stealing.

adj.
  1. Not disclosing one's true ideology, affiliations, or positions: a stealth candidate.
  2. Having or providing the ability to prevent detection by radar: a stealth bomber; stealth technology.
