As a QE in the aircraft industry, I can attest to the fact that NDI people live in a world different than ours.

Theirs' is a world of decibel drops and attenuations and voids.

We once covered a file clerk's phone handset with ultraviolet penetrant dye. We then set the UV lamp next to her desk (you cannot tell that the light is on).

By the end of the day, everyone in the plant could tell that she picked her nose.
