Absolutely.
You're right...what a prick.
I'll get the beer.
We're not alone.
[D]o you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying, LORD, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life?
But what does the divine response say to him? I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.
Rom. 11:2-3
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my miscellaneous ping list.
ping!
I've already ordered it!
He was stupid enough to get away Scott free.
Only the president can do it. He has to use his bully pulpit. But for some reason he won't. Even to stick up for himself.
This is going to be SO good.
Aside from how anyone feels about the 'toon or Freeh, something is to be said about the Director of the FBI and FBI resources having to devote significant amounts of time to 'toon/ White House scandal investigations AND the adversarial relationship that would naturally result from such a situ between a country's leader and the watchdogs.
No, he wasn't stupid at all. The Clinton policy seemed to be scandal saturation. The MSM also did a horrible job of connecting the dots where his scandals were concerned. If Bill had been a Republican he would've been run out of Washington on a rail. He didn't get away scot-free, he was impeached and it doesn't hurt to remind people of that occasionally.
So i would suggest to any and all out there, don't buy his book, don't buy his anti-Clinton act, etc.
I am buying the book. Before discounting what he has to say, I would think you would want to read Freeh's side of the story. Perhaps, it will answer some of the questions you posed. Calling Freeh a liar is a bit much. Personally, I think he is an honorable person.
As the guy on Fox & Friends was saying this morning, since Clintoon never meet with his CIA Director and had a bad relationship with Louis Freeh, FBI Director, how could he have possibly been fighting terror?
Clinton should be the head of FEMA.
He is an expert on things that blow.
Jay Carson, Clinton's spokesman, said Freeh "wasn't even present for the meetings he describes. President Clinton repeatedly pressed the Saudis for cooperation on the Khobar Towers investigation and his pressure led to the eventual indictments."
Carson said Freeh's claims about the library "are more untruths in a book that clearly has many."
Carson said Freeh's book was "a total work of fiction written by a man who's desperate to clear his name and sell books."
There has also been some complaints from the Dems that Freeh contributed over $20K to GOP candidates. Louis Freeh contributions
If all this stuff is true, then great, but then again I wonder if Clinton could have fired him at any time he chose to as opposed to Freeh saying he stayed because he feared who Clinton would choose as his successor.
"The FBI marched (for the first time in it's history) 500 agents infront of the White House to stop Clinton from freeing Peletier."
Didn't know what you were talking about, so I did a little reading...fascinating story.
If all this stuff is true, then great, but then again I wonder if Clinton could have fired him at any time he chose to as opposed to Freeh saying he stayed because he feared who Clinton would choose as his successor.
If I am not mistaken, the FBI Director serves a ten year term. There is no statutory restrictions on removal of the Director by the President. Only one Director has been removed since 1972. Clinton removed William Sessions on July 19, 1993 citing "serious questions...about the conduct and leadership of the Doirector."
On October 15, 1976, in reaction to the extraordinary 48-year term of J. Edgar Hoover, Congress passed Public Law 94-503, which limits the term of each FBI Director to ten years.
Freeh left after 8 years. I suspect that Clinton could not find adequate grounds to fire him and given his many legal problems, it would not have been a good move politically.
However, I will say this: if I have to pick between believing Freeh or Klintoon, I'm going to believe Freeh.
From every account that I have read about Freeh, he is a serious man, dedicated to law enforcement.
And, like another FREEPER said, it seems a little ignorant to advocate not reading a book just because X person wrote it. We're not liberal panty-wastes here. We (well, some of the people here...wink) are grown ups who can read words without getting our feelings hurt.
And, who knows, maybe we can learn something new (or gain additional insight from our prior knowledge) about the Klintoon administration. In my mind, anything that I can learn about what these scumbags did to our country is important. Hitlery is going to run for president, so the more information we have the better.
Course, it's a free country (for now), so do what you want.
