IMMOKALEE, Fla. -- Fourteen field laborers broke into an 18-year-old woman's home, dragged her across the street and then took turns raping her, investigators said.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office said the men, ranging in age from 18 to 56, dragged the woman from her home to another across the street early Saturday. She told deputies they choked her and hit her until she lost consciousness.
She said that when she awoke, one of the men was pouring alcohol in her mouth. The men then pulled off her pants and each one raped her, she said.
When they finished, the men pushed her out of the front door, the report said. She said she walked over to her landlord's house and called police. Deputies subsequently rounded up 14 men who were at the house.
Although the woman could not say for sure what role each suspect played in the attack, she was positive all 14 participated in the sexual battery.
"She couldn't pick out exactly who did what, but she could verbalize bits about what happened," sheriff's spokeswoman Kristin Adams said. "Her quick thinking made it possible for us to make the arrests."
Each man was charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment and sexual battery by multiple perpetrators. All were in jail without bond Tuesday and could face up to life in prison if convicted. Twelve of the men are from Guatemala, one from Puerto Rico and the other from Mexico.
Immokalee is in northeast Collier County between Naples and Fort Myers, and 115 miles northwest of Miami.

I'm not saying it didn't happen as she said but something doesn't sound right. I'm glad she's alive but it seems unusual that they would throw her out and stay in the house, knowing she would call LE.

All here legally, right? Funny, the article doesn't mention anything about their immigration status.
Terror can come across the border in different forms.
We will be waiting, 7.62 NATO locked and loaded.
We Dare Defend Our Rights,
It does smell fishy, but knew there'd be illegals (oh, did the article not mention that?) involved.
Maybe the women in their countries aren't that smart or just too scared to call police....they forgot they are dealing with American women.
did she ask them to bust up a chifferobe?
The headline should have been 'Illegal Aliens which are government failed to protect us from raped a child."
I notice that, too.
"Twelve of the men are from Guatemala, one from Puerto Rico and the other from Mexico."
If they are here illegally I hope she sues the snot out of their employer.
Maybe its time for all of the victims of crime committed by illegal immigrants to band together and file some sort of suit against Homeland Security/ICE for negligence, dereliction of duty, whatever.
It seems like nothing else is getting their attention.
They are ALL preventable crimes. Everything from shoplifting and fender benders to rape and murder.
There is also no mention of the mobile homes.
I can think of at least one alternative scenario, but it's best to allow time for for things to develop here.
Let the family exact justice. Let he community exact justice.
Yeah. It's a strange report but I was wondering that too. I hate to see people sue happy but as you say nothing else isworking right now.
Another thing to remember is that these criminals probably have the combined intelligence of a styrofoam cup. Most dirtbags are also very arrogant to the point that they feel they "deserve" whatever they're stealing or committing. Individual rapists are that sick, not to mention gangs of rapists.
They should be promptly executed, cremated, and then their ashes mixed with asphalt to fix potholes.

I'm with you. Sounds really odd.
If they were on meth or something else then it would make much more sense.
