Comments like that are what make our side look absolutely nuts.
More than a few will argue that Islam *is* a terrorist orginazation.

OK! Great! You give on George Bush...where you gonna go now? What exactly does anyone know about Miers? As far as I know all the so called conservative critics of this choice have never even met the woman...never spoken to her and wouldn't have been able to pick her out of a line up before last week. But they're all qualified experts on her legal expertise, professional qualifications, conservative bona fides and 'judicial temperment'!!!
The only person I know who actually knows the nominee is the man who nominated her and I respect the man's integrity and judgement. I worked for the election of George Bush because I wanted HIM to be the man nominating Justices to the Supreme Court. I trusted him then and I trust him now.

Notice too how it is now "disprespectful" for the President to deliver on his campaign promise of nominating strict constructionists. This is a very dishonest statement. You should be ashamed.

Anticipating anxiously original thought in responses: "elitist", "snob", "moonbat", "DU troll", "Ivy League", did I forget anything?sexist, kool-aid, beltway insider, hopelessly ideal, kool-aid, gang of 14 made him do it, kool-aid, secret stratergy, must support our president or the Dems will win 85 seats in the Senate...

What does bother me is with Miers' choice there will be less incentive for other justices to depart. It was a message to the court - if you're looking to be replaced by giants, we've already reached the bottom of the barrel. Yes, Miers is the bottom of the barrel. -sarc We haven't even heard her speak and you call her the "bottom of the barrel"?

Vote Democrat Republican and vote against America. If the Republican party was for America, the border would be closed. There wouldn't be a threat of terrorists coming through the sieve called the Mexican border. There wouldn't be EMTALA bankrupting our health care system. There wouldn't be phony "free trade" system stealing authority from the US congress, giving it to socialist internationalists in Switzerland and looting the American economy.
In addition, there wouldn't be a FEMA , a No child left behind act, no federally mandated "smart growth", no loss of property rights through the Endangered Species Act and Kelo vs New London.
It is not logical to assume the Republican party is pro America

Good Lord, such whiners. Ya'll want some cheese with that?
The Dems are having a ball, sitting back and watching the Conservatives eat their own.

He was a huge hero on FreeRepublic just weeks ago.Freepers turn on their heroes when the koolaid commands it. You've been around long enough to know that. Don't act surprised when you find this site filled with hypocrites and koolaid guzzlers.

Don't forget 'sexist' to boot!

Michael Graham, a recent hero here.Guess he doesn't realize Bush isn't running for anything.
This could get him on the Today show.

"At leat five of the RINOs will vote with the 'Rats against any judge who can be proven to be conservative."
True. And the republican party will still throw its full weight into getting all of them reelected. And when their general elections come up, you will say "vote for them, otherwise where ya' gonna go?".
It sound like you've decided this is as good as it gets and are willing to accept whatever the pubs do.
I agree this may be as good as it gets, but that doesn't make me any happier.

I believe there is just as much of a chance that Harriet Miers could be the anti-souter that we all long for as not. I believe I should not have to guess, hope, or otherwise struggle to articulate the qualifications of a nominee to such an important, and life-time, position. There were far better choices.

Please take your calm, reasoned logic someplace else - there is no room for it at this inn.
We here - deal only in despair and/or hysteria.
Stability R not us.

I have changed my mind, too. When the seven RINOs defected on the fight to change the Senate filibuster rules, it became obvious to the 'Rats that GOP "majority" was in theory only. Hopefully the president has picked a stealth conservative that will make O'Connor look like a raving Marxist.

well he got a lot of play with his CAIR backed firing, i guess he wants to get some more coverage.
i don't have a problem with anyone questioning the pick, finding it wanting, feeling disappointed, maybe even betrayed, but the HISTRIONICS are beyond the pale, here and among the punditry. it discredits them, IMO. sounding like a DUmmmie in your discourse brings you no honor.

Wow. Talk about your teenage hissy fit temper tantrum! Sheesh, I swear I could hear foot steps pounding, doors slamming, and then the stereo being cranked up in the bedroom as I was reading this.
My gosh, man, get a hold of yourself!

This is getting to be absurd. I hope little Harriet gets up there and makes fools out of all of these loud mouthed, over the top "pundits". From your lips to God ears.
I am praying she ends up rubbing their noses in it.
