Under strong pressure from former president Bill Clinton's advisers, CBS's "60 Minutes" has agreed to read a statement denying an explosive charge being made on tonight's program by former FBI director Louis J. Freeh. In the statement, Samuel R. "Sandy" Berger, Clinton's national security adviser, challenges Freeh's assertion that Clinton failed to press then-Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah to cooperate with an investigation of the 1996 bombing of Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia, and used the occasion to ask for a contribution to his presidential library. The Saudis made such a donation last year -- six years after the 1998 meeting.

WOW! CBS stepped into this big time!
If they run Bergers "denial" and not mention his recent conviction......?
Not that they really had any more cred to lose anyway.
Hehehe Choke on that CBS!

"Sandy" Berger was a great choice to defend the ex-liar-in-chief.

Great choice - use somebody that is currently violating their parole order as a character witness.

Obviously the only way we'll get to the bottom of this is an Independent Commission.

Tell seeBS what you think of a convicted felon coming to the defense of a admitted perjurer and impeached ex President.
Ask them why when they ran their forged TANG document story against President Bush they didn't run a rebuttal nor did they even mention that it might not be the truth.

that's like putting on spiro agnew to rebuff watergate charges against richard nixon.
so we could assume that from now on sixty "dispicable" minutes will give people rebuttal time from the schmear campaign they do every week.

So, we have a man who has been proven as a matter of scientific test to be a liar, defended by a man who pled guilty to stealing state secrets, on an issue involving state secrets, on a network program that has tried to throw the last election with counterfeit documents. And they are all Democrats.
Does it get any more surreal than this?
