Unlike the President, those 27 Senators are listening to the conservative base of the Republican party ...

If all 27 of those Republicans voted against confirmation, We'd need at least 24 DemocRATS or independant who votes with the DemocRATS to also vote against confirmation.

Hey we could always filibuster her nomination. Ironic eh?

What's troubling for President Bush, however, is that 27 Republican senators -- almost half of his party's members in the chamber -- have publicly expressed specific doubts about Miss Miers

Ah, yes. The unappeasables.

Let's sentence Miers before her hearing!

Is she facing criminal charges?

Yes! Where have you been for the last 5 days?

Where have you been? In a North Korean basement? So you think Meirs should be rejected but someone with a paper trail like Luttig will be confirmed by the same RINOs who didn't give Bolton the time of day, and barely confirmed Bush's lower picks.

I'd say you're smoking some type of illegal substance there pal!

This is exactly what I've been predicting.
Harriet Miers will be defeated by all of the Democrats plus half of the Republicans.
The anti-Roberts will get the exact opposite vote.

Democrats opposing Miers will be simple: No White House memos, not votes to confirm.

Nearly half? That is a surprise since everyone knows that the vast majority of Republican Senators are idiots..

Sentencing? I'm just saying to not confirm her

No, you didn't. You said to withdraw her nomination. She has not had her hearings. My intent was to show that you were not being fair in this issue, hence my using the sentencing word.

BTW, no troubles with legal terms......I believe in letting people have their say (confirmation hearings)...we differ there.

Is she facing criminal charges?

Yes, according to many, she's charged with impersonating a conservative!

Who made this rule that you're not allowed to criticize a nominee until "hearings" are held? I have never heard of it before, and yet every Pro-Miers apologist is citing it.

Nearly half of Senate Republicans say they remain unconvinced that Harriet Miers is worthy of being confirmed to the Supreme Court, according to a survey conducted by The Washington Times.

GW, do you really want to blow up the Party? Do you really have that big an ego? Withdraw this nomination, for the good of the Party, for the good of the nation.

And only 14 of them to filibuster. Not that it would ever happen though.

"you think Meirs should be rejected but someone with a paper trail like Luttig will be confirmed by the same RINOs"

It's the conservatives that are opposing Miers. The RINO's are supporting her.

GOP Senators will have Hell to pay. Bush will start vetoing pork-barrel bills and won't campaign for RINOs in 2006.

Let's keep things in perspective, OK?

I believe that she should have her hearings. Look at the postings here.......many people don't even want her to have her hearings!

Stop this Carville talk about criticism. You say that every Pro-Miers apologist (wth to you mean by apologist, anyway?) is citing it?

Prove it, James
